Hi people,

Well it has been a fairly short while and although I have been trying
to drum up support we seem to be stuck at 5 members, not very
encouraging. If anyone has any ideas of how to attract more members
please let me know. I have sent PMs to all those on Landyzone who
have posted about the Hawkeye but so far no one has registered for
membership. If any of you are members of other forums please feel
free to mention the user group to the members of those forums.

Best regards
Bill

Hi Alun,
I dont understand why you could not log on to the group. I have not
been all that impressed with the google offering so far so I am
considering starting again on Yahoo Groups as the facilities offered are
better. Things such as file and picture achives are avialable amoungst
others.
I have had an email from Ivor Jones who I imagine might have been one of
your customers, a great result so quickly, hopefully more will follow.
I will keep everyone posted on the move from google to yahoo, good thing
it is so soon after the start of the group rather than when it is well
established.
One further thought Alun, I wondered if you have a contact in Omitec who
might be interested in joining us.
kind regards
Bill

Hi Bill,

I have only just found this group. Not easy to find. I'm on a few forums for the Land Rovers. Mainly AULRO in Australia. If your happy I could post a link and probably get a few people interested to sign up.
I have a Hawkeye and find it is very good. Only just found that Ver6 software is also out, so now need to get the update CD as I have all the cables etc.
I just sent an email to Chris Lane at Bearmach inquiring about an update CD.
I use it on my D2a, V8 and see Ver6 will allow programming / adjustment of the rear airbags hopefully. So I don't need to go to a dealer.
Bill do you have a copy of the user manual in English?
Great product.
Cheers
Chris Duryea,

Having found this group and awaiting delivery of my Hawkeye, there appears to be little action on here, but a Yahoo group is mentioned. Is this group still active or shall I continue my search elsewhere?
Thanks

That's a quandary I was in myself before deciding on the Hawkeye. I figured I could buy a fair lump of the broken parts on the P38 for the difference in price between the Hawkeye and Nanocom. Time will tell if I made the right call! I'm still looking for an active user community for the Hawkeye out there though. I'm much more familiar with the PC based systems and interface than I am with the basic tree text interface on the Hawkeye.

Hello.
I suppose that as I receive  these emails I am one of the members in this user group. I can’t explain why there is a lack of members but for my part I purchased my Hawkeye some years ago, I think in 2007 when I had a Disco 3. I had the Disco 3 for 5 years and only used it once in that time to diagnose an EGR fault.
I then purchased a RR L322 and as yet after 3 years  I’ve not had to use it, touch wood. I’ve also got a RR P38 which I’ve had for 4 years  and again only used it once to diagnose a MAF sensor fault. My wife has a FL2 which again as yet I’ve not had to use the Hawkeye. I can say that with a bit of help from youtube I haven’t experienced a problem using the equipment when I had to and I suppose if I did then I would have used this forum more.
I am a private owner not a garage so the unit stays in it’s pouch in the garage until it is required.
Hopefully as little as possible.

Roger.
