HEADLINER CHRISTMAS PRODUCTION
Ft. Dodge, IA - An open casting call has been issued for locals of
every age for the upcoming Christmas Production at Hawkeye Community
Theatre. The dates of the call are Monday, October 9th, Tuesday,
October 10th, and Wednesday, October 11th, with the time split between
auditions for both shows.
"Frosty the Snowman" the classic children's story by William
Francis and "Christmas at Home" a sentimental comedy by Joseph
Hayes will fill the double billing each date the production runs in
December.
"Frosty" auditions will be at 5:00 PM each night, with "Christmas
at Home" auditions to follow at 6:30 PM. Both will be held at Hawkeye
Theatre, 521 North 12 Street, Fort Dodge.
The "Frosty" cast calls for very young, young, teen and adult
actors. There is a part for anyone who can breathe and speak in this
slippery little ride. Dress warm as things may get a bit...frosty.

"Christmas at Home" auditions will seek teen, young adult and adult
actors. This story involves a warm, Christmassy, and sentimental
journey deep into holiday joy.
The Characters for "Christmas at Home" include:
EMILY BURGESS: Eighteen years; a striking looking girl with soft eyes
and an appealing wistfulness. Quiet, reserved, graceful.
JULIE BURGESS: Sixteen years; a girl full of vitality and fine spirit;
lovely in a brusque way; in high school; quick. eager, young mind.
JANET BURGESS: Just twelve; lively; a delightful mixture of child and
adult: still youngishly chubby; quick and ready sympathies and
emotions.
JOHNNY BURGESS: A boyish twenty-one; athletic, with eyes that crinkle
with life and amusement and a sometimes sad sensitivity.
DOCTOR TOM BURGESS: Just past fifty; the father; a fine doctor of the
old-fashioned and real variety; impractical and humanistic.
MRS. MARGARET BURGESS: Not yet forty-five, but looks it in a graceful
way; pleasant mixture of practical realist and womanly sentimentalist;
wise and lovely; her family is her life.
RALPH WEATHERLY: Seventeen years; not particularly handsome but
engaging and typical, with a wide, pleasant smile and a slight
uneasiness.
Both shows will run December 7th, 8th, and 9th at 7:00PM, with a
matinee on Sunday the 10th at 2:00 PM. The cost will be $10 per seat
which includes both shows. Memberships do not apply as this is the
annual Christmas Special.
The production will be directed by Michael Shoopman under authority of
Samuel French, Inc., NYC, NY, USA. Barb Cory will be assistant
director, and Martha McColley will be Stage Manager for the show which
is being produced by Hawkeye Theatre Corporation, 521 North 12 Avenue,
Ft Dodge, IA, USA.
