Aloha Everyone,
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! Here are some events to kick off your year.
Wahine Weekend:
It's this weekend! Get Ready!. A fun weekend to play and grow with the other women in the community. If you're interested, indicate on this facebook event. This will be a beginner friendly event, so please feel free to share this event with anyone who you think may be interested in participating! If you have any questions please contact Sana Hassan (716-393-7070) or Nalu Tano.
When's it happening? January 11th & 12th
Where? Kapunahala Neighborhood Park (Few things to keep in my mind - No pets allowed, no alcoholic beverages, and only street parking is available) Kapunahala Neighbourhood Park doesn't show up on maps so Kapunahala Elementary School will need to be entered as the destination in most navigation apps.
We will have a water cooler and other non-alcoholic beverages available at the fields!
This will be a two-day event with an optional but highly encouraged sleep over (Thank you Becky for opening your home to us!)
The weekend will look something like...
Saturday - Goalti
10AM - Ice Breakers and Warm Ups
11AM - Throwing and cutting drills
12PM - Lunch (BYOL)
1PM - Focused throwing
2-3:30PM - Goalti Scrimmage
5PM - Clothing swap (BYOB)
6PM - Dinner (BYOB)
Sunday - Ultimate
9AM - Breakfast
10AM - Yoga and Warm ups
11AM - Throwing and cutting drills
12PM - Lunch
1-2:30PM - Scrimmage
Please notify us if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions so that we may take those into consideration when planning our meals, we will also have iron-on transfer stickers to design shirts, so please bring a plain Black shirt of your choice if you wish to use a sticker!
Kane Weekend:
Some know it as Wahine Weekend for Men! We're gonna have a great weekend BBQ and play. The plan is fairly casual. We will start with some drills then break into some full field games of ultimate. We'll have lawn games and goalti too! We'll have a grill up and running. Lunch will be provided. BYOB! The night will end at Wilkie's apartment's community area.
When: January 25th 10 AM
Where: Ala Moana Park (same place as pick up and goalti)
Goalti League:
We just kicked off the New Year with GoaltiLeague. The league runs every Friday night at Crane Park 6:50 pm - 10 pm. We are always looking for pickups. If you're interested in picking up please contact Nalu Tano or Brandon Lee when you want to pickup or show up early (6:30 pm) and let someone know you want to pick up. Check out the Hawaii Goaltimate channel on youtube for the weekly showcase games!
