Aloha everyone! 

Come tryout for Party Wave! We are a mixed team based on the island of Oʻahu but open to players from any of the islands. We are focused on building foundational skills and knowledge for sound, fundamental Ultimate. Party Wave wants to empower our players and support the development of competitive ultimate in Hawai'i, all while making friends and having fun. 

Tryouts:

We want to have more community involvement in Party Wave. We will be holding open tryouts (ran as practices) every Saturday starting May 10th up until June 14th (excluding May 17th due to League). Ala Moana Beach Park 9AM-Noon. We will be evaluating on skill, spirit, and attendance. Everyone is encouraged to come and tryout.

All Players are expected to attend Saturday morning practices throughout the season. Rostered players additionally will be expected to complete pod workouts on their own during the week, attend one regular season tournament, and Sectionals to finish up the season. . 

Estimated season costs for rostered players are as follows:

~$65 per person USAU membership fee
~$100 jersey costs (Jerseys required for USAU events)
~$100/person tournament fees (depending on tournaments)
~$40 per day per car for rental cars (shared cost)
~$500 round trip flights per tournament
~$100 per weekend for accomodation (shared cost)
-Tournament food & miscellaneous travel expenses

We recognize that club ultimate is inherently expensive, and that it will be more expensive because we’re in Hawaii. We do not want costs to be a barrier to playing for this team and are planning to fundraise and will work with folks on an individual basis to help meet financial needs. Expected Tournament Dates:

August 9-10 Flower Power (Escondido, CA)

September 6-7 or 13-14 (TBD) (Sectionals)

Players not located on Oʻahu are encouraged to reach out to us at partywave...@googlegroups.com to discuss availability for the coming season, as we understand flight costs can build up and it is unrealistic to fly back and forth weekly for all practices.
