LOCAL AUTHOR TO WALK 130+ MILES OF OAHU PERIMETER.
Everyone invited.

Chris Damitio, author of Rough Living: An Urban Survival Manual and
resident of Manoa is getting ready to walk the perimeter of Oahu. More
than 130 miles of it.

Damitio will be leaving Manoa on Monday, May 19, 2008 and walking to
Waikiki and then heading east until he completes the circuit. The
walk will start at 9 am from Sinclair Library at the University of
Hawaii at Manoa.

Asked why he is doing it Damitio replies “I’ve been thinking about
doing it for a long time and this seems like the right time to do
it.”

Pressed for further details Damitio admits that he isn’t doing it for
a cause but simply be-cause.

Damitio is taking minimal gear, minimal cash, and not much else. One
important component of his walk will be his cellphone, from which he
will post ‘micro-blog’ entries on his website at http://www.terrorsuspect.com.

The public is invited to join Damitio for any portion of his walk and
he is actively soliciting new friends that will walk with him, that he
can join for meals or who will let him couch surf along the way with.

Damitio is the founder of Hawaiihikers.com, an Oahu based hiking club
that meets up for periodic hikes all over the island; a full time
undergraduate at UH studying anthropology; and an avid blogger and
writer.

Damitio is the author of several novels and works of non-fiction but
is best known for Rough Living: An Urban Survival Manual in which he
vividly describes how to live the homeless life with style and shares
how to find satisfaction regardless of how little or how much you
have. All of Damitio’s books are available at his website.
