The county is still mowing the sides of the road on a regular
basis. The potholes are patched when no water is in them, can not patch
potholes when wet.
Call the kurtistown road dept and tell them by what pole number is
the pothole and they will fix in a timely manner when it is dry.
I for one pick up all opala along every road i traverse out here, many
truck loads to the transfer station.I have shovels and rakes and dig
out ponding area's where ever i travel all the time, have done so for
the last 40 + yrs.I pay with some neighbors gravel to fix puka's on
our road.In the last 40 plus years i figure i have put out of pocket
approx 30K of my own monies into fixing existing problems and never
asked a dime from any board, there are many others out here, long time
residents who do the same, all out of pocket without bothering to ask
permission. We just do it on our own.If we had to ask we might be told
no so we do not ask,we just do.
Not all of us have computers, not all of us get a news paper,in the
past when bids were put out for jobs needing to be done,at each
entrance LARGE signs were placed to inform all who live out here about
said job openings,to date in last 3 years approx have not seen a
single job posting and since not everyone gets the trib or has a PC or
internet or a cell phone or grid power or a host of other amenities of
the modern world,it begs the question why not post the jobs to be bid
on at each entrance in LARGE distinct letters for all to read.
Rd E has been the worst of the opala dumped of late,i have taken 8
loads of rubbish to the transfer station from just 6rd to 8 rd.
For awhile a renter who ate at Mc Ds in kea'au dumped their used
empty's up and down D rd,daily i picked up the opala from Rd 4 to rd
8.They seemed to have moved as the opala has stopped for 6 weeks.
Where ever i go i help,if i had to ask each time if it was ok,i would
be put down or worse so i just do.
Keeping my aina clean, keeping our community cleaner, one small handfull
at a time.
