Hello Acres Ohana,

My name is Sara and I would like to make a goal to mend the numbered
roads of Hawaiian Acres this year. It shocks me how some of these
roads are so bad they are borderline 4wheel drive, and with gas prices
these days people shouldn't have to own a truck to drive in and out of
the Acres! Of course, I couldn't do this without the support of the
residents who reside here (and I'm sure most of you feel the same
about the roads, who wouldn't?)

In the next few weeks I will be gathering information to figure out
how we can accomplish this most important issue. I know that the more
people residing on a specific road chipped in for the cost of
repairing it, the price could be minimal and promote our property
value, lower auto/gas prices and give us peace of mind. This is
obvious, but where do we start?


Please, if you have anything to say about this, want to provide
information or trying to do the same thing, let's help eachother!

Ding Ding Ding welcome Sara, this seems more like a boxing match where people take sides on the issue, I say stop taking the talk and start walking the walk, the powers in charge through an olive branch out get off the soap box etc. you know the rest us the phrases

On our section of road,most neighbors chip in monies yearly and get
gravel to fix the holes or asphalt the bad spots where gravel just
washes away.We put strips in with the asphalt so when a dozer or other
tracked machine walks through,they can walk down the center and not
disturb the asphalt.We also mow the sides and dig out with shovels the
ponding areas.In the last 5 years approx we have dumped 3000.00
dollars worth of gravel in the deep ponding area's that are rivers
when really rains hard.
If you are a due's paying member you can ask for matching funds but
the person doing the delivery-takes a good portion of what could be
gravel,so keep that in mind if thats how you want to proceed.
I encourage you to call the office at 966-9892 and get put on the
agenda for the next road meeting so your voice can be heard and idea's
listened too.
