FYI, if anyone is interested in watching the Volcano 4th of July parade, it will happen on Saturday, July 4th at 9 AM.  It's a fun community event and following the parade, there will be some activities at Cooper Center.

HPD wil be blocking the roads around the parade route at 8:15.  The parade route is short.  IT starts at the Volcano store and ends at Cooper Center.

I know this is not happening withing Hawaiian Acres, but Volcano is not that far away.  (And then after the parade,  you could possible stop in and visit our wonderful national park while you're up there.)

Have a safe holiday weekend,
diana

PS:  The Na'alehu July 4 Parade is a couple hours after Volcano's on the same day, so if you are a parade groupie, you could catch both of them,

What would seem important to the general public would be the parade route.  The Volcano parade route on the highway?  Unlikely.  Naalehu route on the highway?  Probably so.

For those not into parades, the classic car show on bayfront will be awesome this year. The club 'Crusin' Paradise' will be attending, with many cars shipped in from the mainland and outer islands. 8am till they get tired. Music, food, and stay for the fireworks!

OK, good point.
The Volcano Parade is totally off of HWY 11.  The route goes from the Volcano Store/Post Office on Old Volcano Rd to Cooper Center.  The roads that access this route will be blocked starting at 8:15 and the parade should be done by 10 AM or so.

The Na'alehu Parade begin around 11 AM.  HWY 11 will be blocked so it will disrupt traffic for a short while.  But, this is also a short parade.
