In response to a federal lawsuit filed on March 16 by Alan Kennedy, a
captain in the Colorado National Guard, against Laura Clellan,
Colorado National Guard adjutant general, Lloyd Austin, U.S. secretary
of defense, and other commanders and generals, for violating First
Amendment rights to freedom of speech, assembly and press, the
National Guard responded on August 2 that Department of Defense
Instruction 1325.06 no longer applies to National Guard members…
