Just in case some may not know about it, here's a link to the best
website on the net concerning Chick tracts.

The Jack T. Chick Museum of Fine Art is the very best place to find
out about Chick tracts. Heck, it's got more information the the
official website of Chick Publications itself!

Take some time, sit down with your favorite beverage and get ready to
discover the world of Jack T. Chick by visiting the Jack T. Chick
Museum of Fine Art. You won't believe all the information available at
your fingertips.

Yo! Big Daddy! You wanna Big Daddy Scoop? We JUST FINISHED the first
ever documentary on Chick and his tracts, and it's off now touring the
festivals and getting packaged as a DVD. It's called GOD'S CARTOONIST,
THE COMIC CRUSADE OF JACK CHICK. This project took three years but it
was worth it. We were able to interview Fred Carter (Tract and
Crusaders Artist), Dr. Rebecca Brown (co-writer of SATAN'S MASTER, THE
TRICK, ANGELS?, POOR LITTLE WITCH), David Daniels (co-writer of
various modern tracts, including FATAL DECISION, and Crusaders Comic
THE ENCHANTER), Chaplain Dann (The "Human Tract Depenser" and tract
character in THE MESSAGE and REV. WONDERFUL, Nuri Rivera (wife of
Alberto Rivera, the Anti-Vatican guru), Bob Fowler and Dan Raeburn
(two of the three authors who have written books on Chick), Rev. Rich
Lee (President of the Chick Tract Club and cameo character in THE LAST
JUDGE), Dr. Kent Hovind (Creationist guru and co-writer of IN THE
BEGINNING, and other anti-evolution tracts), and several others,
except of course Jack Chick himself, who avoids the camera. Video and
audio tape footage of Alberto Rivera and John Todd is also included.

It's a real fun exploration of everything Chick and a delightful romp
through the world of Tractland. We're just starting to take orders for
it. The link is:

Don't expect this to be seen at those regular Satanic movie theaters!
(Although I expect to visit them soon to check out Ben Stein's new
documentary EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed.) Anyway, I wanted to
pass on the word. When Hollywood finally gets with the program and
starts cranking out Chick movie after Chick movie, we'll be able to
say we started the trend, haw-haw!

WOW! Can't wait to get a copy of that DVD. Guess I'll be "stemulatin'
the econ-o-mee" with Unca Dubbya's check by spending it at
monsterwax.com.
One question though - did you visit "Dr. Dino" in prison for your
interview? I spent 21 years living in SC and I know where that Federal
Prison is located.

I don't frequent the local movie theaters often, but I definately will
be ponying up the dough to see GOD'S CARTOONIST, THE COMIC CRUSADE OF
JACK CHICK and also EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed.

Thanks for the scoop,

No, we did NOT visit Dr. Dino in prison. On the contrary, we
interviewed him months before the arrest. In fact, when I heard he was
talking about tax protesting on his internet radio show, I personally
warned him that if he didn't stop, the government would eventually
make an example out of him. The only thing they hate more than people
who don't pay their taxes, is people who tell OTHER people not to pay
them either! And from what I hear, people at Chick gave him a similar
warning. Chick believes in paying all taxes and that not doing so
leaves yourself open for attack. (And they were right.) But Kent
believed the government had gone beyond their constitutional powers
with income tax laws, especially in regards to religious
organizations. Since he considered his Dinosaur Adventure land them
park to be religious, he felt they had no right to collect.
Unfortunately for him, might MAKES right, and they threw the book at
him, even jailed his wife, who by all accounts, just made whatever
deposits he told her to.

Although I do not subscribe to many of Kent's biology beliefs, I found
him to be a likeable and very friendly guy. I didn't want to see him
sent up the river. He should have know his enemies would actively
campaign to get him in trouble. Fighting for your beliefs is one
thing, but giving your enemies ammo to use against you is another. The
sad truth is he would be serving less time if he had just killed some
body. But from what I hear, he is a model prisoner and keeping his
faith alive.

Guess Dr. Dino should have remembered when Jesus said, "Render unto
Caesar what is Caesar's", huh?

Maybe prison will do for him what it did for Jim Baker. From what I've
seen, it was in prison that ol' Jimbo figured out how wrong he was
preaching the prosperity Gospel.
