Although there are a number of Christian/Bible stores in my town, I've
only found ONE that carries Chick Tracts. I stopped by the other day
and found only a few on the rack (although there were a lot of other
type tracts). I asked the owner what the deal was and if he had more
Chick Tracts in stock. All he said was, "No". It was as if he didn't
want to even admit he had ANY for sale. Oh well. I guess he's bowing
to the pressure of the Anti-Chick movement afoot in our great land.
Funny how we've got 1st Amendment rights of free speech UNTIL we say
something that folks don't like to hear.

The store owner is not a Southern Baptist Convention type either. In
fact, his store is adjacent to a Primative Baptist church. Good thing
we've still got Chick Publications and the Jack T. Chick Museum of
Fine Art. Otherwise they'd be unobtainable here in good ol' North
Alabama.

Be sure to check both of these websites:

Yes, this is one of my biggest concerns, the slow strangulation of
Chick publications at the retailer level by the PC police and their
Hitler Youth Activists. Even here in Tallahassee, the local Christian
store owner rolled his eyes back when I asked if he carried them, and
he said he would NEVER carry Chick because Chick was Anti-Catholic.
Well, a Catholic book store showed their appreciation by opening right
across the street and eventually ran the Christian book store out of
business. Guess that showed him! (Now maybe he's ordering the tracts
on line and passing them out, haw-haw!)

I was up in Thomasville this weekend and found a place that still had
them on the big display rack, and bought a few dozen just to show
support. (You can always find someone to give them away to as gifts!)
I feel with so many people on a secret mission to purge America of
Chick tracts, those of us who believe in free speech and free comics
need to be just as active to preserve what freedoms we have left. The
last thing I want is an America that looks and feels like the one Fred
Carter drew in THE LAST GENERATION.

I guess this might belong in the Conspiracy thread, but I believe
you're
right about the USA starting to look like "The Last Generation".

As for using Chick tracts as gifts, I have a GREAT idea.At the prison
where I work, the dorm I'm assigned to (256 men and little ol' me),
they put up a huge pagan tree every December. They don't have much in
theway of decorations, so I think I'l buy a few blocks of "Humbug" and
"The Greatest Story Every Told" and hang them on the tree in place of
the normal decorations. Of course, the hard part will be smuggling
them into the prison. The administration can't seem to stem the tide
of drugs and cell phones, but they've been pretty good at catching me
with Bibles and such (haw-haw).

BTW - I marched in my very first parade in Jr. High band in
Thomasville. Is it
still "The furniture capitol of Georgia"?

Hanging Chick tracts on Christmas trees is a great idea, especially in
prison, just don't use paper clips! They might turn those things into
weapons to poke your eyes out or make tattoos (probably of Fang the
dog, if what I've seen in the tracts is true). And remember, you can't
read Chick tracts without non-poked out eyes! Perhaps a little hole in
the corner of the tract for a rubber band to hang it might work---
assuming they don't use the hanger as ammo for a rubber band gun!
