Jim --
I would love to know what you think Biden should have done in Afghanistan when it became obvious that, without massive military effort from the West somehow, the Taliban was going to take over that country.
For my part, I believe as follows:
Let's be brutally clear and maybe honest about any idea that we should have "stayed" in Afghanistan and that pulling out was some sort of betrayal of our duty.
As a matter of fact the ONLY way we could have stayed in Afghanistan militarily is by a Vietnam-type war.
I am glad we did not try that.
Further, given even just the despicable treatment of women by the Taliban -- [The most recent description and analysis that I seen is in of all places Time, it's 9/22/2022 issue] -- I don't think the so-called civilized economies in the rest of the world should in any way allow a Taliban-led government to participate in the modern world. They are brutal tyrants in too many ways to be let into the ordinary transactions of the rest of the world.
Anyway, please, you tell me what Biden should have done to escape your condemnation of his so called despicable shame in regard to Afghanistan.
