Long post coming. First a huge thank you to everyone Who has been keeping me and my community in their prayers. I truly believe the prayers make a difference. I also need to thank LSFD and Castella fire department for saving my house. Thank you to LSPD, and Siskiyou county sheriffs department especially to Chris Stock f

who checked on my home and assured me that it was still standing. And a big thank you to my son JR who is sharing his house with me, and with grandson Andre who’s letting me sleep in his bunkbed. Thank you to my daughter Megan for being my back-up evacuation destination down in Rocklin, and to my friends who have also offered to let me stay in their homes. I am truly blessed

Many of you ask how I am doing. The short, easy answer is that I am truly ok, but within that I am hopelessly hopeful, anxiously calm, energetic yet exhausted, and trying to control the situation‘s that are certainly beyond my hands and are clearly in the hands of a higher power. In short, I am an oxymoron lol.

For Those of you who are following this fire, I am in the Mill Fire, evacuation zone LST-5218A, So although others have been allowed back into their homes in parts of Weed and within the community of Lake Shastina, I am smack in the middle of the red zone and it is still unsafe due to trees that are burning at the core and still falling, and creating the potential for new fires. In addition the water and sewer lines are still not working. And so I wait.

I have groceries and a place to stay, while so many are displaced and in need. I will update again when I get to check on my home and assess smoke damage, Potential water damage and the overall breathability of the air outside as well as inside my little house.
