Provisional results for the 3rd BDSL Race (SS3) + Burton 10M results attached. I have highlighted in yellow any runners who appear in the Burton 10M results under a BDSL club name but do not appear in the lists supplied to me from the BDSL club secretaries. In this case there is 1 runner from Burton AC and 2 runners from Tamworth not listed.
If these runners are members then I need to be notified within 7 days of this email otherwise these runners will be permanently excluded from the BDSL Results.
There are 2 other runners highlighted in red. One of these is Tracy Cox of Peel Road Runners. A complaint has been put in against her for not wearing her club vest. I have not included her in the provisional results but obviously Peel RR have the right to appeal this decision. If it is proved that she was wearing a club vest then she will be included in the final results. The other runner I have highlighted in red is the runner who finished in position 267. This was not Gerry O’Brian who appears in this position and also 34th position which he actually finished in. If anybody knows who actually finished in 267th position in a time of 1:54:12 then please email me and let me know. Gerry’s race number was 223 so this may have been mistaken for actual number 213 or 233.

For those who don’t know me I am the chairman of Hatton Darts and I witnessed the complaint regarding Tracy Cox not running in a Club Vest on Sunday and I want to make it quite clear that this is not a complaint directed personally at Tracy but it does need clearing up as we have been taken to task on more than one occasion regarding our runners not wearing official club colours in the races and I understand that it is a rule that to be counted you must wear the official club vest / top garment for the race however I am not on the committee for the Summer League so don’t know what rules are in place so could someone please come back to me to clarify the position.

Could the committee members please give their views on this matter please. I know what the rules are but I think we shouldn’t be too stringent on these things so long as there are good reasons and people don’t take advantage. I would like to think that if it happened to one of our club members that the same leniency would be given. However this is not my decision and I am just giving my point of view.

Re: Tracey Cox. She was not wearing a Club vest, because she had accidentally left it at Uttoxeter after the half marathon. I believe that she had e-mailed Danny to ask him to arrange to send it on to her, but had not had a reply by the time of yesterday's race. Danny brought her vest down to yesterday's race and after the run, I asked Tracey to explain this to the Race Director (which she did). I believe he was happy with her explanation and I hope that, in view of the circumstances, League members will allow her result to stand. Please could you let me know the outcome.
Re: Christine Norris (runner 263). Chris is a member of Peel Road Runners and should have been listed as such, rather than as an unaffiliated runner.

Hatton Darts Chairman again !!, If you want my personal View ( and a lot wont ), rules are rules and should be stuck to !! . I know circumstances occur and people have to make decisions but If I was the race director I would have explained that they would not count before they ran if they did not have their correct kit and I only say this because as I stated in my other email it has happened to us previously and it is an elementary requirement.
I personally think it is get rather unnecessarily inflamed which is a great shame so the committee need to decide and make things quite clear for the future to avoid this aggravation and upset again and then stick by it and remember if you waive it this time you can never enforce it in the future else you will upset people again.
We all know that we can’t all be right all the time and we do not live in a perfect world but let’s not leave ourselves wide open for problems like this.

On behalf of Peel Road Runners, and as the BDSL rules clearly state that Club vests must be worn at League races, we are happy to accept that Tracey's result should not stand in the League results.

In the Burton 10M results you will see team results for the Uttoxeter Half Marathon. This is because I copied the format from Uttoxeter and forgot to delete the team sheet. Please ignore this sheet as I will delete it when the final results go out. There were no team results sent out with the Burton 10 Results.
