Hey All,

Following are the minutes of conference call of 7^th December 2014:

Updates:
1) Our hostel is doing well this year. In current tally our hostel is 1^st in sports leading with 27 points, 4^th in cultural, 3^rd in tech and overall 1^st position.
2) This year placements were also good compared to last year in terms of package as well as numbers.

Major ongoing projects:
1) External painting of hostel starts early January
2) Leveling of area behind mess and canteen
3) New TT table installed

Prospective projects/ Pre approval:
1) I feel there should be 1 more day for conference call if we missed the call on 1^st Sunday of month as many times we didn’t had a call in past because of not having a common free time.
2) I appeal you all to please pre-approve the badminton court project so that we would start with the required paper work.
3) We are thinking of promoting entrepreneurship among students by connecting alumni with those students doing startups to mentor and encourage them.

Hi Archit,

I am happy to send the update from hostel activities and projects to all alumni.  Generally, not everyone is involved in the Sunday conference call, nor does everyone participate in approving projects like the badminton court.  What's the motivation for sending this particular email to all alumni?  Would it be ok if I edit it a bit to remove these two points and then send it on?

1 and 2 should be for the core group.

Archit,

I have just sent the email to two lists I know, and have copied you on the email.

There are two things I'd like to follow up on :

(1) What approval / whose approval do you need for the badminton court idea?  I thought we had gone through the discussion on that and there was support for the project?  Hemant/Anshul, perhaps you could jog my memory - how can we help expedite the decision on this?

(2) On the entrepreneur/mentor idea... Fantastic idea, by the way.  What do you think the involvement would be and what kind of help could you use on this one?  Let's give it a bit of a structure and see how we can make the most of it.  Has any other hostel done it successfully?  If so, we can copy the model.
