Islamic identity Keysar Trad has questioned the news values of Sydney
radio station 2GB after winning a defamation case against the
broadcaster.
A NSW Supreme Court jury on Thursday found fill-in presenter Jason
Morrison's tirade against Mr Trad in December 2005 contained eight
comments that defamed the former spokesman for controversial Muslim
cleric Sheik Taj Aldin Alhilali.
The jury found Mr Trad was painted as a person who incited others to
have racist attitudes, someone who incited others to commit acts of
violence, and that he was a dangerous and disgraceful individual who
gave out false information about the Islamic community.
Mr Trad sued the station's licensee, Harbour Radio, for defamation,
not Mr Morrison personally.
The case related to a December 19 broadcast about a Sydney peace rally
held in response to the Cronulla riot, at which Mr Trad spoke.
Commenting on the rally the following morning, Mr Morrison, who was
filling in for regular talkback host Ray Hadley, accused Mr Trad of
inciting hatred and violence in his speech.
Outside the court, Mr Trad said the verdict should force people to
rethink 2GB's news values.
"The fact that the way I presented myself at the peace rally has been
misrepresented by 2GB should certainly make people think about the way
news is actually reported at this organisation, and what policies are
put in place when they pursue news stories," he said.
The case will continue on a date to be fixed to hear any defences from
Harbour Radio, and to assess financial damages.
Mr Morrison, the station's acting news director and head of current
affairs, declined to comment.
The station's chief operating officer, Stuart Thomas, said 2GB
supported Mr Morrison.
He rejected Mr Trad's comments, saying "we continue to have confidence
in Jason Morrison in his acting role and in his other roles".
Mr Trad had his day in court, and 2GB would have its day when its
defences were heard, Mr Thomas added.
But 2GB did nothing, of course. Because Jones is the station's cash
cow, with a seemingly unbreakable connection to the hearts and minds
of - well, not Struggle St, but to people who are doing quite well for
themselves, actually, but think they've come from Struggle St, and
resent anyone who they think might take their hard-earned gains away
from them. Like migrants. The Howard Battlers, in other words. And
that's why the Prime Minister's only too happy to jump into the trench
alongside Brigadier Jones, both blowing their dogwhistles furiously,
from the same score
Howard has effectively given Jones licence to say what he wants
without consequence.
It just goes to show the arrogance of Alan Jones and John Howard.
Jones should have been sacked or suspended for his comments but it
only highlights the contempt 2GB has towards its listeners and its
belief that it is untouchable. Howards comments demonstrate that this
government is more concerned about their mates than public interest
and law and order. It's good to see that 'mateship' is alive and well
especially in the halls of power.
Yes, of course Jones had the right to say what he did, but does that
really make it right? Absolutely not. Jones sits behind his microphone
(or should that be on his high horse?) and preaches like a minister,
when anyone with half a brain can see him for what he really is... a
hate monger!

Allow me to share with you here some information about Jesus Christ,
Muslims believe in Jesus Christ (peace and blessings of (Allah = God)
be upon Him as one of the mightiest messengers from (Allah=God),
We believe he is born miraculously by the word of Allah without
Father
Like ADAM Been created without father nor mother,
And Marry (mar yam) is his mother the pious, pure female may Allah be
pleased with her,
In fact there is a chapter in Quraan titled Marry
Let me quote here these verses:
"BEHOLD! THE ANGELS SAID: O MARY! GOD HATH CHOSEN THEE AND PURIFIED
THEE -
CHOSEN THEE ABOVE THE WOMEN OF ALL NATIONS "
And this Verse About Jesus:
"HE SHALL SPEAK TO THE PEOPLE IN CHILDHOOD AND IN MATURITY, AND SHALL
BE (OF THE COMPANY) OF THE RIGHTEOUS."
If this is a Quiz asking you where these Divine verses come from the
Bible Torah or elsewhere?
THE Answer for your information it is from Quraan 3:45,46
