Change of actual meeting place:
The meeting will be
held in the DEEP Education Center (Building 3) in the rear of the facility.
Following the “Education Center” signs around the main building and the large
shop building will get you there. Parking is available to the right and left of
the drive as you enter the facility as well as to the south and east (rear) of
the main building. There is limited parking next to Building 3, though
you are welcome to park on the grass to the north of the shop building. The
only place we ask people not to park is in near the fence/gate to
the dock area and in front of the main building.

Senior Systems Engineer, Customer Loyalty & Retention at SAS
T Winand
is a computer software professional and analyst with 24 years’ experience in program design and development, data management, statistical analysis and reporting. T has fifteen years of programming,
statistical analysis and modeling experience with SAS – fourteen of those years as a Systems Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer and Technical Account Manager at SAS. For the majority of his time at SAS, T has focused his efforts on helping organizations achieve
value and growth through the effective use of analytics: statistical analysis, descriptive and predictive data mining, text mining, forecasting, and model management. While at SAS, T has worked with leading organizations across many different industries but
has spent seven years working exclusively with Health and Life Sciences organizations.
In addition, T has complementary expertise with SAS capabilities that support the complete analytical lifecycle: data integration & management,
data exploration, operationalization, and business intelligence. Finally, in recent years, T has helped several large organizations modernize their SAS architectures to achieve greater speed, flexibility and scale, to improve processes and utilization of
resources, and, ultimately, to improve value. T graduated from Cornell University and has an MBA from Kellogg, Northwestern University.
Mark Trentalange, MD, MPH
Associate Research Scientist at the Yale School of Public Health
Mark Trentalange received his medical education from New York Medical College in Valhalla followed by internship
at Elmhurst hospital in Queens, and a residency in Anesthesiology at UCLA. His 20-year medical career included 3 years in the Navy and 17 years of private practice in Texas and Arizona. He is retired from anesthesia practice except for occasional medical missions
to developing nations. Returning to get a MPH at the Yale School of Public Health, he is now an Associate Research Scientist at the Program on Aging at the Yale School of Medicine. He has been using SAS for about 5 years on a variety of projects requiring
graphic products for presentation or publication.
Summary of talk:
I will be discussing various techniques for easily improving commonly requested analyses as well as demonstrating some lesser-used capabilities in SAS, such as interactive windows, data
skins, incorporation of company or departmental logos into graphics, composite graphics, overlaying to create complex portrayals of interactions, and lastly simple animations (if connectivity allows).
Directions:
From the West:
Take I-95 northbound to exit 70 (immediately after the CT River bridge). Turn right at the end of the exit onto Rt. 156. Proceed for about ¼ mile and turn right onto Ferry Rd. Follow Ferry Rd
to the end.
From the East:
Take I-95 southbound to exit 70. At the end of the exit, proceed straight through the traffic light onto Rt. 1 (Halls Rd). Follow Rt. 1 to the traffic light at the intersection with Rt. 156. Turn
left onto Rt. 156 and proceed on Rt. 156 for about 0.3 mile. Turn right onto Ferry Rd and follow Ferry Rd to the end.
