Sad loss

Hello classmates,

It is with a very heavy heart that I share with you the passing of my dad, Herbert Zelman. I was lucky to have spent the last 4 happy days with him before he passed away in his sleep this morning. I’m thankful he went peacefully and had a full 91 years of life. Mom and Dad spend 6 years up north with me before moving them to Florida to be close to Drew. 

My husband and I are flying back to Celebration, Florida this afternoon. Dad will be cremated and we will have a family memorial in a few weeks in Florida. 

Dad is finally at peace and happy in heaven with his first born, my brother, Gary. They were always two peas in a pod. I’m happy for Dad that they’re back together again.

Nancy, I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m glad you were around and his passing was peaceful. My mom is 91 also... we’re so lucky to have had them for so long.

Oh Nancy I am so sorry for your loss! I am sending you and your family love and strength to get through the next few weeks. I know it’s been a challenging time for you and your family but you have been the best ever daughter selflessly caring for your parents over the last six to eight years. And albeit you have been expecting the inevitable, the grief if still there.

Im so sorry to hear. My recollections of both of your parents , though decades old , are still so clear. Your parents created such a loving family . Love is eternal 🙏🏼such a blessing to have peaceful passing.
