Villanova's wireless network SSID is "VUMobile". To connect, simply click on VUMobile on your computers list of available wireless networks and enter in your Villanova user name and password. This will work for any computer running Windows Vista or higher and Mac OS X 10.5 or higher. Instructions for older operating systems as well as more detailed instructions are linked below.

UNIT is proud to announce that Villanova is now a member of Eduroam-global Wifi Roaming. This service is designed to allow active students, faculty, and staff to use their home institution's credentials to connect wirelessly and securely to the Internet while visiting other participating institutions. With this new offering, there is no need to set up a guest account at the visited institutions. You will be able to use your Villanova MyNova credentials (use...@villanova.edu) to access the wireless network at participating educational and research institutions. Click here to find out where Eduroam is supported and access a of list of over 300 institutions in the U.S. We will begin to be implementing the service here on Campus during the Summer.

As Banner 8 is nearing its end of service at Villanova, it is time to for users to start transitioning to Banner 9. UNIT is holding Banner 9 training sessions each month to support the transition. Sign up, class size is limited. More...

If you get an error saying Failed to load the main VU module (vu-core.dll). you need to check if your anti-virus is blocking VU. Make sure to whitelist all VU files or the entire VU directory (which should be at %LocalAppData%/VeniceUnleashed). If that doesn't help, try downloading the latest VU installer and installing VU again.

If you're on Windows 7 and you're getting a black screen or a black screen with a loading indicator, you need to install the KB2670838 update package. After installing this update VU should work as intended.

If nothing happens when you launch VU, try validating your game files via Origin and launching the vanilla game via Battlelog at least once (you can launch either singleplayer or multiplayer). You should also check if your anti-virus is blocking it. You can also try downloading the latest version of VU and re-installing it.

This prompt may appear after major Windows Updates or hardware changes on your computer, and is part of Battlefield 3's DRM system. Simply fill out your Origin account credentials and follow the prompts to activate your game. Alternatively, you can launch the vanilla game via Battlelog or run the VU executable with the following launch arguments (where is your Origin account e-mail and is your password):

If you get returned to the main menu after joining a server it could mean that there's a discrepency between your local files and the server files, so the first thing you should try is validating your game files. If that doesn't help, it probably means that the server is running a mod that causes this issue, so the only thing you can do is contacting the server admin for support.

This means that VU cannot find where Battlefield 3 is installed on your system. To fix this, simply validate your game files via Origin and launch the vanilla game via Battlelog at least once. If you have transferred your game files over another computer or you're running this on a machine that can't run Origin, you can manually specify the game's installation directory by using the -gamepath launch argument, as seen below, where is the path to the BF3 directory:

You need a legit, licensed, and up-to-date version of BF3 installed in order to use VU and you will also be required to link your Origin account with your VU account the first time you launch it, so we can verify your ownership of the game. VU does not and never will work with cracked or pirated copies.

No. VU functions separately from vanilla BF3 and does not modify any game files. That means that you can just launch BF3 like you normally would through Battlelog and it's like VU was never there. Any changes to your game data are performed at your discretion with the use of third party mod tools.

The first thing you should try is validating your game files via Origin, as corrupted or missing files could result in crashes. Then, you should check the mods you have installed on your server, as they could be the ones causing crashes. Try disabling them one-by-one until you find the outlier.

It is possible that if the server previously had a win install, or you accidently ran wine first in a 64-bit prefix, it will cache itself in the configuration files. In order to fix this, follow the steps located from this guide.

Victoria University now has a licence for Padlet. Padlet is an online tool that is best described as an online post-it board. It can be used by students and teachers to post notes on a common page. The notes posted can contain links, videos, images and document files. This can be shared with any student or teacher by embedding the padlet on a VU Collaborate page, or providing them with the unique Padlet link. Padlet allows you to create as many online post-it boards or "walls" as you like and insert ideas anonymously or with your name. You can set these Padlets to private or public. Private walls can be created by requiring a password to access them, or by limiting access to registered users with specified emails. Teachers can use this to collaborate within a subject department that is not accessible by the students and moderate all notes before they appear. If you intend to share a padlet with students, set your padlet to Secret and share the link or embed the padlet in VU Collaborate.

Padlet is an online tool that allows students to share text, images, links, videos, and more. It can be shared with your students or colleagues by embedding the padlet on a VU Collaborate page, scanning a QR code, or providing them with the unique Padlet link.

If you have an existing Padlet account, you will be given the option to import previously created Padlet.com into your VU Collaborate Padlet account.

This is not one of our lovely professionally done videos, just a quick demonstration.

Boards created in Padlet can be exported in several ways, including as a PDF, an image, a spreadsheet, or printed out. Your Padlet can also be shared by its unique URL, or QR code, or embedded into your unit space.

If you choose the "Organisation wide" option, it's restricted to users in your organization. Visitors not in your organization will be denied access, in this case, students won't be able to access them as they're not required to have accounts).

If you want to have a completely new Padlet with no responses from previous students and you want to maintain the previous responses so that those students can review it, it is best to remake the Padlet and embed it. This takes a bit longer but ensures student privacy and access to learning materials and activities.

If you want to have a fresh Padlet with no responses from previous students, you can keep the Padlet and delete all posts. If you want to provide a record for students to go back and look at you can make a pdf of the Padlet and upload it in the space.

Sometimes, padlets can be used as a source or repository of ideas, links, and resources. You may wish to keep all previous responses and build on the padlet from Block to Block. In this case, you do not need to remake the padlet or delete anything, you just need to make sure that new unit convenors or key teaching staff are added as Collaborators.

At Brenbeal we see ourselves as part of a big community, actively seeking ways to connect with organisations beyond the walls of the centre. Linda and Angela, our 4 year old Kindergarten teachers are excited to be connecting with Victoria University, mentoring some of their students (pre-service teachers).

VU Play is an innovative program, which sees Early Childhood students organise Pop Up Play times for the local community. Students gather up an assortment of intriguing loose parts and present them for children to explore. Linda and Angela have been teaching mentoring the pre-service teachers, showing them how to use incorporate and use loose parts as part of play based learning.

For more information, you can check it out on Instagram at vuplay_ or come join us on Clarke St Pop Up Park in West Footscray next to the library on Thursdays 2pm-4pm and Saturdays 10am-12pm & 2pm-4pm.
