@Monochrome I'm aware of this, per my question. I'm asking if it's possible to download the Kontakt 7 player by itself (without installing Native Access 2) and if it would work with Mojave as just a player.
KONTAKT PLAYER is a free sample player based on KONTAKT. The PLAYER focuses on the key performance and editing aspects of the sound engine, while KONTAKT gives full access to building and editing tools that are the foundation for all KONTAKT PLAYER instruments. Key differences between the PLAYER and the full version of KONTAKT include:
Mac user M1 Laptop, Logic Pro; I can install the (free) Kontakt player in a Logic Project, load an instrument, hear the sounds triggered through the little keyboard featured in the GUI but can not trigger sounds through Logic.
Hi all, I recently bought komplete kontrol a49. I also got the komplete 13 select bundle. Now, I am wondering if I should buy kontakt 6, or should I continue using kontakt player. I looked on the differences between kontakt full and kontakt player, and they all say that some sound editing features are disabled on kontakt player, and also, not all sound libraries work on kontakt player.
Can someone tell me what are the sound editing features that are disabled, and is it worth it for me to buy the kontakt if I only use the komplete 13 select bundle? I am a guitarist and I play ambient and shoegaze music mainly (using my pedalboard for sound design). I bought the controller and the bundle, so I can easily design and add ambient sounds (organs, synths, strings, ...), drums and bass.
Hello... I am new to sound design and thus have some downloaded .wav files and sound samples to use in compositions. The Kontakt Player opens my .wav files fine but in a DEMO mode only and then it times out telling me to upgrade to the full Kontakt (which I have Kontakt 7). However, when I try to load the .wav files into Kontakt 7, it does not allow me to open them and they are greyed out (see my second screenshot below), so how do I use these in the full Kontakt 7 player? What am I doing wrong? Please help. Thanks.
first open kontakt full version, then drag and drop wave files from file browser into kontakt. Once a instrument instance is created you can also open wave files via instrument editor as far as I remember (i always use drag and drop). I would highly recommend to look into the manual, kontakt is not an easy sampler, it's so sophisticated.
I've downloaded Native Access. When I click "not installed" there is nothing there. Made sure I have the right email. It's just not there. It did say 'Reaktor 6 player installed successfully" without me doing anything, so that seems weird. I also have Kontakt Player 2 that needs to be repaired, but nothing works to repair it and I can't seem to uninstall it.
Is there an actual install file for the Kontakt player? I'm just trying to use a free sampled piano (the M Sound Factory Monastary grand), but their player sucks and the sustain pedal gets stuck and then it glitches out.
After updating Kontakt Player 6 (via Native Access) to version 6.3.1, I am unable to pull Kontakt player up in Cubase. The installation paths are correct and can use it as a stand alone device on my computer but it will not show up in Cubase Elements 10. It was working before the update to 6.3.1. Any suggestions?
I purchased Heavyocity's Vocalise 3 and went through the installation. I can see the player in my plugins list. I can insert it. After much prodding, I got the Vocalise instrument to show up in the library (kind of, it doesn't really act right) and I can audition sounds from the library through my PT hardware. However, when i arm a track in PT, I get no midi triggers to the instrument from my keyboard. Switch to a different track with u-he, all works fine as normal. Just don't understand the Kontakt player it's acting so flaky. It feels like it is "half-installed" from the standpoint of the behavior of the instrument in the library. When you click on the gear icon and go to libraries in settings, Vocalise doesn't show up as installed. Should it? When I'm in the normal Kontakt player window, Vocalise doesn't show up along with the keyboard and other controls etc. I only see it when I go out to the library.
Fixed it by basically not using Kontakt player 7 and using Kontakt player 6 instead. Guess nobody tested player 7 with PT? Strange, but whatever. Leaving this here in case anyone else finds themselves in a similar situ.
Sorry, my bad, I forgot that they put the date ahead of it now. I'm actually running PT Ultimate 2022.12. Whatever the latest version is called. And Kontakt player 7 is not happening. Kontakt player 6 works great though, so I'll be sticking with that. Problem solved. Not sure what player 7 would give me, but right now it's giving me a goose egg.
Kontakt 6 and 7 should all be able to remain installed on the same system, along with one or more players. When you install a new one, the standalone app requires setting up sound and MIDI, so they clearly have their own settings.
I just upgraded to Reason 12 and the Kontakt player is super tiny as others have complained out. Coming here, the thread is closed with no solution. However, I was able to fix the issue for myself. Curious if this will work for others.
Hi, I just installed my old Berlin Concert Grand Library and Kontakt Player on my M2 Mac Monterey. I just want to play and simply record the audio. I can not find a record button. The most simple thing Kontakt player does not even have?
Has anyone else had issues using Kontakt player in Cakewalk. I inserted it as a Midi Source with First Audio Output checked. I open the Kontakt player and on the right panel loaded an instrument from the Play Series Selection - Hybrid Keys. I have the Output/Midi Channel on Kontakt set as default - Output: St 1. . Midi Ch: A 1. I have my keyboard connected to the Focusrite interface. On the Input on the MIDI track, it's says Omni -None. I change that to Focusrite USB MIDI. Yes I have the monitor button checked
I hit a note on my keyboard. I hear it, see the meters moving in both the MIDI & MIDI/Analog channel. I see the note being played on the keyboard at the bottom of the Kontakt player. So I hit record on the MIDI channel in CW. I hear it as I record it, When I play it back. I hear it very faintly. I go in and boast all the velocities way up. It's a little louder, but still way below what it should be with velocities all above 110.
I see the meters moving on both CW tracks, but so faint. I push hard on a piano key, it's still very faint. The meters on the Kontakt player are moving a little, but not as high as when I was recording.
So the only thing I can think of is there is some issue with the Kontakt player & Cakewalk. I even followed the instructions of a few people on YouTube who showed how to upload and play a Kontakt instrument through the Kontakt player in Cakewalk ? Same problem.
Okay I'm not crazy. What you are saying makes perfect sense, it sounds crazy, playing with the Mod wheel all the way up. It sounds like there is an issue with controller setting between the two. Of course Kontakt is impossible to reach for support. They have a chat open 3 hours a day, but they are mostly just sales people. I can try their forum and see if I get any answers. I'm looking to purchase the Native Instrument Session Guitarist Acoustic Picked. I'm hoping I can simple upload directly into my DAW, like the Ample guitar VIs. If I have to use the Kontakt player, it wouldn't make sense to buy it. Really incredible sounds, lots of patterns, etc.
Still having that issue with CbB. Upload any instrument from Kontakt player, put down a track, go to play it back and you can barely hear it. Try to play another track. nothing in the meters. Some one in tech support is going to have to help. I'm going to try and select default settings in CbB in Preferences.
After saving the multi, you can even double-click the multi file (or a shortcut you made to the multi file) and the player will open and everything will set up just as you defined it before saving the multi.
@Jeremy_NI Thank you for looking into the matter ?. Unfortunately, I still have no luck getting Kontakt 7 installed. I see Kontakt 6 Player, which is installed, and Kontakt 7 player, which also is installed. I see Kontakt Factory Library 2 (not installed yet). But no signs of Kontakt 7 full version in Native Access. Shouldn't it appear here?
There is only one version of Kontakt. It fires up either in Player mode, or in Full mode, depending on the license (ie, if you have a Kontakt licence, it will work as the full Kontakt, and if you don't, it will work as the player).
The latest download of Kontakt player, the latest version of Gig Performer. I just had a fresh upgrade from Windows 7 to 10. Also a new larger SSD drive for the C drive was installed. I have an nvidia video card and use two monitors. I tried changing the screen resolution but still only half the window appears.
If someone rather struggles with the 30-minute time limit of Kontakt Player rather than getting full Kontakt, all I can say is, that is either admirable cheapskatedness or moral determination. The last thing I would be wondering about is what the license agreement for the sample player says.
Ensemble presets contain values for all parameters of the Kontakt Instrument, including the set of players with their specific percussion instruments, the patterns assigned to the keys, the mixer settings for all players, as well as the global parameters described in the interface overview. Browsing ensemble presets is done in the Ensemble Browser.
