I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend and were able to get out to do some birding during spring migration. I wanted to take a quick moment to thank everyone that came to the annual banquet last week and to introduce myself to those who couldn't make it. 

Like many of our members I found birding in the beginning of the pandemic as a way to get out and decompress. Since then, I have become an avid wildlife photographer and spend most weekends out hiking with my wife Alison and our cameras. We are local to Simsbury but love to travel in search of new and exciting species. 

I am truly humbled to step into the role of President of the Hartford Audubon Society, a group of passionate, knowledgeable and sometimes delightfully bird-obsessed individuals. I'm excited to continue our mission of conservation, education, and appreciation of the natural world. Over the past few years I have met many of you at meetings or in the field and I invite you all to stop and introduce yourself at the next HAS event or if you see me out birding. I am always open to hearing new ideas on how we can continue to make this a fun and productive club for everyone that wishes to join us.
