Natural Phenomena: Aurora tonight and tomorrow

It's not about birds, but about a truly amazing natural spectacle.  Delete if not interested.

 

There's been a LOT of geomagnetic activity on the Sun - a G4 storm - so there is a high likelihood of seeing the Northern lights much further south than CT tonight and Monday night. The best time/way to see them is to get to a dark area away from light pollution close after sunset when the sky is dark, look to the north, and use a long exposure on your camera or use your phone to record all the colors.  We may have some clouds on Sunday night but Monday is predicted to be clear with fabulous viewing.  Fingers crossed for some amazing views!

 

It is absolutely worthwhile to drive to a dark area to see this when it gets dark -- really, they are amazing! Watch with your phones! With the naked eye you may see colors or just a hazy green "fog", but the cameras should pick up all the colors and motion of the aurora.
