HURC 2014-2015 Board Application and more

Hi guys,

It’s time to elect the new board for robotics club for next year. HURC is still a new club that is still figuring out its structure and organization. Therefore, as officers, you will be able to really define the way HURC will turn out to be for years to come. In addition, being an officer allows you to choose what projects/competitions HURC participates in. 

HURC will be undergoing major restructuring and reorganization this summer to prepare for next year. Officers are expected to prioritize board and club meetings. As a result, we are looking for members who are reliable, responsible, and, of course, interested in robotics. 

The following board positions are open:

-Co-Presidents (2)

-Secretary (1)

-Treasurer (1)

-Project Manager (X) (depends on how many projects we want to do)

-Outreach Officer/ Publicity Manger (1)

To be considered for a board position, please email me with the position(s) that you want to run for in addition to a short statement (2-3 sentences) about why you want to run by Friday Apr 18th. 

The board will then choose the officer based on applicants’ involvement in this year’s activity. 

Update on the club itself:

We will present Drone games and micro mouse robots at the Visitas activities fair to recruit new members. Stop by to help out if you can!

This year, we participated in Drone games and Micromouse Robotics. For next year, I am thinking about the MechWarfare category. We basically get to build a robot that shoots at other robots. (Link to competition here: http://www.shepherd.edu/cmeweb/srf/mwc.html) HOW AWESOME IS THAT?
