Good evening fellow Walkers and Runners!
Thank you for all your positive feedback regarding our proposed schedule changes for the Summer months.
Starting next week and continuing through the months of May, June, July and August, we will adjust our schedule for the Cambridge HOTM program in order to accommodate the feedback we've received from participants throughout the year.
One of our primary goals in adjusting the schedule is to combine several of our events so that participants in both the walking and running groups have a chance to interact with each other and so that our walkers are able to take advantage of our free yoga class on Sundays.
We also hope that this change will encourage some of our runners to participate in our walks and for some of our walkers to explore running!
The new schedule will encompass 3 walks and 2 runs each week. This includes a:
- WALK on Wednesdays at 12/noon
- RUN on Wednesdays at 5pm
- WALK on Wednesdays at 5pm
- RUN on Sundays at 10am (followed by our FREE Yoga class at 11:30am)
- WALK on Sundays at 10am (followed by our FREE Yoga class at 11:30am)
Please note that this schedule change will not affect our events this week - we will still have a run tomorrow (Wednesday) at 5pm, a walk on Thursday at 12/noon and a run on Sunday at 10am.
For all Cambridge events, we will continue to meet outside on the steps of the Malkin Athletic Center (39 Holyoke Street). Routes for both walking and running will be centered around the Charles River pathway. The walks last just under an hour and are between 2 and 3 miles in length. The runs typically include short (~2-3 miles), medium (~6 miles), and long (8+ miles) loops. Walkers and runners are, of course, welcome to come out for more or less time depending on their schedules. If you'd like to design your own route along the Charles River, please check out this map, produced my Marathon Sports, which shows all the individual distances (in miles and kilometers) between the bridges: http://www.marathonsports.com/map.pdf
As always, please don't hesitate to e-mail me if you have any questions or concerns!
