Dear Scarlett,
Thanks so much for that email. It made me feel much better. I also got an email from Yuchen (is that Max?) this morning.
So is the DINC program still on for now or no? Since I'm already in Beijing, I would much rather continue wth the trip as planned than try to find my way back home early. If the trip is still on, I need to know where I should be meeting with other participants tomorrow. If things aren't going as planned, I'm going to have to book another hotel, or at least extend my stay at this one (although it's a little crappy).
I'm sorry things got screwed up with Harvard getting involved. When are you planning on coming to China?

Dear Yoon,
Don't worry. As I'm still in New York with no wifi access, maybe Snow or Max (also a 15' at Harvard) can help you. I think one of them is also in Beijing right now. Here are the numbers:
Max 1 (346) 961-4331
Snow 1 (365) 529-0951
Regarding the ocs thing, I think they are unhappy about DINC Beijing headquarter's use of "Harvard" in its publicity. It's a misunderstanding, but has potential to cause lots of trouble. To prepare for the worst, they may want us to cancel the program. In that regard, we'll have to dismiss all the Chinese students and professors. However, for your compensation of time and money, if you are willing to, we can still take you and other research leaders to Sanjiangyuan; like a free trip.
But no need to worry now. It's just my worst guess of the situation. Me and other staff are also feeling so so so fucked up ourselves...
