Hi all,
What an amazing competition held at an amazing place with an amazing group of people supporting it – and an amazing group of teams (companies!) participating! I hope that you all took something away from the experience and that you are looking forward to next year.
I know that I thanked these folks at the awards ceremony, but I wanted to thank them again here, in no particular order –
- Patrick Rowe of Midwest ROV, Rick Rupan of the University of Washington, and the folks at NASA and the NBL for the LIVE videostream. How cool was that?! (The best part for me was being able to say hello to my 3 ½-year-old back at home with her Daddy!)
- All of the judges and volunteers who supported the event. Thank you for your time and expertise! A very special thanks to Lisa Spence, Kevin Montgomery, and Pat Barrow from NASA/NBL for all of the extra, extra, extra hours they added to their already busy schedules. You three are the best!
- Thank you to the parents and mentors of the teams. I appreciate you being partners in this journey to provide science, technology, engineering, and math learning experiences to your children/students. I also appreciate the support that you provide to your teams!
- Drew Michel and the Marine Technology Society’s ROV Committee for supporting the MATE Center to develop and grow the competition, including your participation in it!
I also know that you’re anxious for the scores and complete final standings – they are coming! Attached here is the summary of winners that were announced at the awards banquet as well as the a list of prizes/prize sponsors. These will be posted to the MATE ROVER web site ASAP – as will the final scores.
I appreciate your patience – and thank you again for a fantastic competition!
