Thanks to Jack, Rudy and Charles for their help tonight.

Here are the messages I receive when I boot from the usb stick.

1. Failed to open EFI BOOT mmx64 efi - not found
2. failed to find image   - not found
3. failed to start mok manager - not found
4. something has gone terribly wrong - import mok state failed - not found

I tried booting from the other drive and had the same problem.

I see the work "mok" and that means secure boot is 100% involved here.

Rudy,

You may want to be sure Paul is aware of this. The next thing I would
have Lisa try (either when Paul is there or before) is to try to turn
off Secure Boot in the BIOS/CMOS settings.
