Not quite Linux, but maybe close, if you squint enough.
This is something I had been thinking about for a while with my old
phone, but it is now even more of an issue with the new one.
All installed apps are listed in the "app drawer" (swipe up from the
bottom on any home screen). Only some of them are on any home screen.
What I want to do is be able to organize the apps I want on the home
screen(s) grouped by are - all the financial ones together, all the
hotel ones together, all the store apps together, .... My real
preference would be to plug the phone to my PC with USB, and then have
an application that shows ALL home screens above ALL app-drawer screens,
so I could drag things around. On the phone itself, I can only see one
of those screens at a time, and dragging an app icon to the right place
often ends up either dropping it on the wrong screen, or worse, dropping
it on another app and creating a folder I don't want.
I found a program called scrcpy, which works well, but only mirrors the
active phone screen to the PC monitor, and lets you use mounse and
keyboard. That's some help, but not enough.
Do either of you have any idea of any app or package that might help here?
