I just purchased a Linux Mint Cinnamon laptop and have finally figured out how to print from my Canon ImageClass MF269dw ii printer. I can scan as well but have no idea where those scans are going on the laptop. Any ideas?

Also I downloaded the Zulip for Linux software but can't get it to run.

I got a message that says the sox and zenity dependencies are not installed and required for applet functionality for notifications and alerts. It says to go to README for help. I don't know which applet the notice is for or how to go to README.

I had a Zoom call and people said my voice was very strange and it did not recognize the camera. I'm SO frustrated and ready to return this thing and just go back to Windows.

If anyone can help me, please do. My phone # is 860-770-3810.

First, can you get any help from the place you bought the laptop?  Have
you searched any Mint forums or mailing lists?  It is possible others
have had the same problems.

For finding the scans, what software are you using to scan?   Is there a
"scans" or similar folder within your home folder?  If not, there is
likely a configure or setup function within the scan prograqm, and one
of the settings should be the default location to save scans.

It is likely the README for zulip itself.  Default location for program
docs depends on the distro, but try looking under /usr/docs or
/usr/share/docs (or documentation.)  Also, how did you install zulip?
If it is available as a mint package, installing that should also
install the dependencies.  If it doesn't, it's a bug in the package
buile, and you would need to complain to Mint.  If you installed a snap,
flatpak, or appimage, the deps should probably be included.  Checking
for help at the zulip web site..

camera:  can you use ANY application which accesses the camera? I have
always used guvcview for such testing.  If nothing at all can access the
camera, I wonder if you are missing the necessary drivers.  How is the
camera identified by lsusb?  This is also something you might check with
the seller or manufacturer of the laptop.
