Dave,
Thanks for the e-mail.
I guess we’re just curious if Ben thinks this is structurally doable.
Tony Matta and I have chatted about this project and are “leaning” toward putting out a design/build RFP. It will have to be written very carefully and we need to make the ultimate design/builder responsible for securing structural analysis AND State and Fed. Highway approval. We need to sit with the committee and talk about how we might describe the “design” in an RFP; and how we would “weed out” bidders that don’t have credible experience. Lots of thought and conversation still needed… (Jack…maybe you and I can meet to discuss first?).
But, it would be very helpful just to know if what is currently “on the table” will work structurally.
Thanks,
-Mark

Hi Mark et al,
I've included Ben McCarthy (our designer) on this email so that we're all on the same page with what's happening in regards to the lingering questions about the stability of the skatepark at New Ross.
There were some notations on the drawings you gave me that Ben is looking to have clarified before an engineer can figure out the weight calculations.
This is getting a bit out of my realm of expertise, so hopefully you can direct any questions to Ben if you have any.
Thanks, .

Hi Mark,
Our designer (Ben McCarthy) just got back into town. He is meeting with an engineer early next week to go over the calculations.
After that he should be able to meet with you the following week and show you what they came up with. They are going to do two calculations, one with a standard dirt-fill and another using a foam-fill....and of course all the concrete.
Thanks so much for your help and let me know if there's anything else you need.

Dave,
Have you had any feedback from your designer regarding structural calculations?
I’m trying to move things along if possible.
