Tony Hawk progress report due in a week

Hi everyone, our first Tony Hawk grant progress report is due in a week. I think I have a general idea of where we're at but if someone is up to the challenge of rattling off some very rough bullet points describing what point we're at in the process, what we've already done and whats coming up next, that would be really helpful.  No need to make it fancy, just nitty gritty facts.  Any takers? :)

Naa, they know its a long process so I doubt it'll be an issue.  As long as we're making progress, I think they'll be happy.

I haven't seen it but Mike deserves a little respect as the person who helped create that space. New County/Wexford was his idea. That being said, he also abandoned it and now wants to try and say that he's pissed about stuff.

Zulu...I think a good thing to do is have a workshop on what New County / Wexford was in history within your offerings. It's a pretty cool story about revolution. I think that could go a long way in establishing some respect amongst one community towards another. I think at one point we talked about skaters/taggers attending the Bobby Sands annual moment of reflection over on Maple by Goodwin Park...I don't know when that is. But it's the same "Irish Revolutionary" community.

The danger with McGarry is that if enough people who don't know anything about the space hear the same crap over and over, eventually someone that actually has the ear of the Mayor gets to him and the Mayor might say "screw you guys I'm going home."

Yea that would definitely suck. The space is being used by the community now. Its beautiful they have photoshoots,music videos,meet ups its becoming such a amazing place. I just see alot of bs coming our way cause of the construction delay to 2013. We should make a public announcement as to what's going on with it so the public won't lose site or speculate things. Im gonna plan some fall events there so they can see the positive side of it not just skaters and graffiti taking the park over.

I think the day of remembrance is in early May...I can talk with some of the folks that are involved with the memorial and see about how we can get involved next year.

What would be awesome is if some folks were to create a mural at Heaven honoring the hunger strikers.

Lol...and it doesn't have to be a pic of a bloody battle scene. I was thinking more along the lines of something representing the 10 peeps who died during the hunger strike...like some birds flying through prison bars, pasty-white raised fists, etc. :)
