Hi Everyone -

A friend of mine just started a new position with NYU and he asked me if I knew anyone who could teach this course that they are offering.  Since I don't know anyone myself, I figured I would put it out there to the group to see if anyone is interested.  Feel free to pass it along.

Thanks,
Ed

NYU is seeking an instructor for a Ruby on Rails non-credit course.  It runs on 10 Tuesday evenings from 6:30-9:30.  The first date is 9/24.  Here is the course description:

Become acquainted with the language, Ruby, and its application framework, Ruby on Rails. Learn the language itself, including objects and inheritance, exception handling, reflection and introspection, cooperative multithreading, and garbage collection. Discover why everyone—from start-ups to huge e-commerce operations—is excited about object-oriented scripting in Ruby. Then, build web applications using Ruby on Rails as a classic Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework. See how Ruby objects interact with visual layouts, partials, and views. Construct interactive, data-driven applications as front ends for MySQL databases. Call on Ruby’s extensive library of AJAX functions to automatically generate JavaScript code.

Continuing Education Units (CEU): 3.5

Prerequisite: Webpage Development with HTML/INFO1-CE9740 or equivalent knowledge.

Anyone who is interested can contact Michelle Hardy via email (mh1...@nyu.edu).  She can discuss compensation, qualifications, etc.
