Subject: PLEASE HELP: Trad Youth Exchange Program - THREE WEEK COUNTDOWN TO TULOG BAND VISIT!
Hello all,
Many of you know that many of us have been working on a project called "The Trad Youth Exchange" - see the attachments! I'm happy to tell you that we are bringing over the All-Ireland champion Tulog Ceili band, a group of young musicians aged 9-14) to meet, perform with, and develop friendships with 15 of our youngsters in CCE Boston's Realta Geala Youth Ensemble. The Tulog band, their teachers and parents, arrive on Boston on November 5th, and will stay with us until November 10th. We would like to invite all of you to come hear them play at two concert/fundraiser events:
Friday, November 7th, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Melrose MA (http://www.melrosekofc.org/) at 8pm - performance by the Tulog Band & Realta Geala, with special guests Mary MacNamara, Pat Hutchinson, Jimmy Noonan, Kathleen Conneely, and more! There will a cash bar all night also! Tunes to follow the concert, location TBA.
Sunday, November 9th, at the Burren, 3-6pm - Mary MacNamara's album release party, hosted by Brian O'Donovan. Mary will be joined by the Tulog Band, Realta Geala, and special guests. Tunes afterward until 7pm.
As you might imagine, this is a costly projects, with the burden falling to the families whose children are participating. Thus, we are starting a fundraising campaign with an overall goal of raising $16,000 to help defray costs of travel, and of hosting the Tulog group.
To this end, there will be a number of other fundraiser concerts coming up, including a Concert Window performance from Matt Cranitch & Jackie Daly this Friday night at George Keith's house in Medford. If you can't make the concert (and you should try to!!) and choose to watch it online instead, all Concert Window proceeds will go to benefit the Trad Youth Exchange. Here's the link:

Many many thanks to all of you for your help in making this project happen - thanks to those of you who have already donated! Come meet the kids in November - you are in for some fabulous music at the concerts!!!!
