Hello!

Well, Bendometer is not working in my computer... After changing Java
for a new version, I managed to launch it but the following message appears:

javax.sound.sampled.LineUnavailableException: line with format PCM_SIGNED 44100.0 Hz, 16 bit, mono, 2 bytes/frame, little-endian not supported

Well, I´m doing my best but I´m not getting to solve this problem...

Could you help me?

Thanks a lot!!

which platform and what version of Java are you running. Typically, that error means you don't have the proper hardware support, but this sounds like your software just isn't recognizing it properly.

Java doesn´t update to 1.6...

I think I will have to change at least to win 2000, but I´m afraid my cpu doesn´t have ram memory enough...

It´s a pit... Several weeks without bendometer... snif, snif...

Still working on it...

Thanks again!!

To me this sounds like a sound card driver update is in need.

Although you may not have alot of ram, i've seen alot of older pc's
run windows xp just fine with 256mb's of ram.

If you need help updating your sound card drivers just reply and I
would be glad to help out.

Hi, Paul!

Hi Everybody!

Well, sorry for taking so long to answer!!

I´m using AWE 64 Soundblaster sound card, with the usual drivers provided by win 98 itself.

My pc has 196 mb ram...

It´s a pentium III...

I Would love to update those drivers... If you can help me, I´ll be very happy!! Thank you a lot!!

I think I will try to add more ram and formate the hd, if I couldn´t solve the problem...

Then I am thinking about install windows 2000 at least...

If it works, I will have my computer at least for one or two more years... If not, I will buy a new one...

The fact is that I have 2 computers: a smart one, at home, 2 gb ddr 2 250 gb hd... and so... The other one I use at my work, the Pentium 3 thing... I teach harmonica in Juiz de Fora, Brazil... It was already time to replace this cpu, anyway... But this is the one I use bendometer, with my students too...

Thanks a lot!!

I'm afraid you will need to upgrade in OS.

the error you get is common on the Net when it comes to sound
capturing.

For the soundcard drivers: I read on soundblaster.com that the product
is "dead" and no downloads are offered.
If you google for "win98 soundblaser awe64 driver" you'll find
something (but you need to register (free) first.

sorry, but those are serious indications that pc needs replacement :s

here I am, whining on Vista that it shuts down my microphne after a
while.. while you are trying to get things working on a win98 :D
