Hi everyone,
My name is Lasse from Sweden and this is the first time for me to post a topic here.
Hope I'll succeed. And I hope you'll excuse me for any misspelling and grammatical errors...

I'd like to know what you guys think about Paul Jones.
Saw The Blues Band a couple of weeks ago here in Sweden. It was a great show with great musicians. Nice to see how they were interacting and they really had a lot of fun. It's a democratic band with all its merits and demerits. Four of them sharing the vocals... But the show really took off every time Paul Jones handled the song-mic. He's a great show-man! And... a gorgeous harp player. He sure have got his own style of playing (IMHO). Talked to him after the show and he told me he's using The Marine Band -out-of-the-box. I´ve been playing the harp for 20 odd years, but I don't know how the h... he's doing those things without any manipulation?
Well I'll try to keep it shorter next time.
Take care!
Lasse

I agree with you Lasse... Paul Jones has long been one of my favourite harp players (and not just because being in the UK I get to see/hear him more than most). I'd rate him as certainly one of, and maybe the, best UK harp player around right now.

Interesting to hear that he plays out-of-the-box MBs, since he also endorses UK customiser/builder Antony Dannecker's products
http://www.southx.biz/dannecker/home.htm (I have one of his "Dannecker Blues" models and it's a beauty... but I guess Mr Jones endorsement counts for more than mine!)

Paul Jones also hosts an excellent weekly blues show on BBC Radio 2. If you can't get it over the airwaves you can tune in on-line:

Hi Jim, Nice to hear that you agree with me about Pauls harp playing. He was smashing that night here in Sweden, I think. About him playing out-of-the-box MBs, he told me it's more inexpensive for him. (Guess he's sponsored by Hohner ;). Anyway...thanks for the tips on the links. Checked out A. Dannecker's page and I think I'll get me one of his 'Dannecker Blues' models too. And on monday I'll listen to Paul's blues show on BBC Radio 2Lasse> From: Jim.P...@hp.com> To: chil...@hotmail.com; har...@harp-l.org> Date: Wed, 20 Feb 2008 10:09:03 +0000> Subject: RE: [Harp-L] Paul Jones> > I agree with you Lasse...
