I pushed HarmonyHacks:master to AppHarbor as of commit 6cf450b.  This gives us reporting, the ability to edit participants (though not their registrations, yet), and a few other things.

I checked out AppHarbor this morning… there are some problems with the reporting on my end…. (Regardless of the presence of a waitlisted participant or not.) It returned an error 500.

Did you try it after you pushed the commit? I’m wondering if it’s a browser thing or ???

Edit feature is coming along nicely… the back to list button errors out… but I’m as happy to see it as I was to see reports.

What's the appharbor URL? Do we a get a full stack trace?

Ok I can't repro on my local site and the prod site isn't showing the
stack trace.

We aren't really concealing any IP/sensitive information (appharbor
site is a demo and doesn't have real data and the code itself is
publicly on github), here, so I'm going to add a <customErrors
mode="Off"/> element to the web.config (to display complete error
messages/stack trace, unless I hear objections).

Of course, the "prod" site is running on the Harmony Hill internal
network, which also fits the bill for a place where there's not a huge
business case to hide full error info and stack traces.

An alternative would be to set up Elmah on Dahlia, but that requires
adding another db (or adding the Elmah table schema to the Dahlia db)
and other legwork that I'm not terribly keen on.

Thoughts? Bueller?

I meant to say "appharbor site" when I said "prod site" above, sorry.

Jeff, ping Justin to get him to add you to the AppHarbor project.  I believe there are ways to configure the project so that it captures errors for later review but I might not have time to do that today myself.

You can also just create your own appharbor account and push to it to test before committing to the main repo.

Ok I just set up a local app, per bobby's suggestion and the reporting
functionality works for me.. So, I'm stumped. Data issue, perhaps?
Probably not schema, as it seems the app is at the newest available
migration.

Thoughts appreciated.

Can I have the link to yours so I can try it out there? See if I have the same problem in the same browser?

Omg.... it works... and I'm sure I must be fairly mental... but I keep laughing when I read "Jefflia".... awesome work brother!

Now I'm double curious why reports don't fly on the other AppHarbor site.... weird.

*getting so excited it's crazy-making*

Interestingly more than one waitlisted person in a retreat still appears to be a problem for the report generation.

Ah, I see the error on my instance now, as well. This is a place to
start from as far as regressing the issue. thanks for digging this up.

Doh! It's borked now. (pink face).... not sure why... it worked and then it stopped working after I entered more participants and deleted one off the waitlist to see if that would resolve the report error.

Ahhh if you are poking around in it, maybe that's why it's borked now?

Ok that's hopefully the last of the reports drama for now. The issue
was the report would explode when there are no provided notes.. I have
some more checks to handle this. Please continue testing and I'll
probably take a look at a few other things tonight.

Cheers,
Jeff

Awesome... you rock! I have some other projects this afternoon as well... but I'll totally keep chippin away at testing and reporting back to everyone.

Feeling very cherry indeed...
