Starwood / Harmony Development Company cares, that's who.
I haven't seen Mike Horner's list of campaign contributors. Much about Mr.
Horner seems to have suddenly disappeared (see "Mike Horner's resignation a
smart move",
http://tinyurl.com/973yjwu ).
I would guess that Mike Horner had amassed a large fortune from many
real-estate developers and their people. Why do you suppose real-estate
developers might like someone like Mike Horner so much?
I have seen Fred Hawkins' list of campaign contributors. The last time I
checked, collectively Starwood / Harmony Development Company affiliated
people were Mr. Hawkins' second largest campaign contributors. It looks like
much if not most of his campaign money comes from people in real-estate
development and related businesses. Why do you suppose real-estate
developers like someone like Fred Hawkins so much?
Attached are 3 photos.
The first photo shows some whopping big campaign signs for Mike Horner and
Fred Hawkins side-by-side, almost hand-in-hand like good buddies. These
signs appeared together on Starwood / Harmony Development Company property
on September 24, 2012. As far as I can tell, these have been the only
political signs allowed on developer property to date.
It looks like Fred Hawkins and Mike Horner have (or had) the largest
campaign signs found anywhere in Osceola County. These guys must have had a
powerful urge to be reelected! From big money comes big signs and big urges.
The second photo shows that the Mike Horner sign has been removed. Fred
Hawkins now stands alone on Starwood / Harmony Development Company property
as of September 26, 2012.
The third photo shows more big campaign signs for Mike Horner and Fred
Hawkins, side-by-side, that still appeared in St. Cloud as of September 26,
2012.
Apparently Starwood / Harmony Development Company rapidly removed Mike
Horner's sign from its property, thereby disavowing any association with the
man. Perhaps Starwood / Harmony Development Company would now like to
pretend that they were not in effect endorsing Mike Horner by having his
sign on its property.
Why should multi-billion dollar real-estate companies be spending campaign
money and endorsing political candidates this way?
