Note:
The Harmony CDD is run by
several people who have been
in charge here for almost a
decade. For much of that time,
the leader of the Harmony
CDD has been Steve Berube.
Steve Berube wants your
vote next month.
That way he can do more of the same
for years to come.
This post is similar to the "Harmony in Decline" posts (see
https://tinyurl.com/y9psqff5 )
already censored on Nextdoor by CDD Supervisor Kerul Kassel.
What happens
when Harmony rules apply to residents (who may be fined up to $1000 per
incident) but not to the Harmony CDD?
Here's a CDD area adjacent to a residence in Harmony:
As you can see, the CDD area (1st photo and left side of 2nd photo) is ratty, dying and clearly not maintained to Harmony standards. Yet it has been that way for years. The issue has been reported to the folks who mow the area (as well as to Harmony staff) repeatedly, yet nothing improves. It only gets worse over time, not better.
Here's another long-term example:
The first photo is from 2010 (see https://tinyurl.com/yas899m5 ). The second photo was taken a month or so ago.
As you can see, the cordgrass plants that were somewhat damaged 8 years ago are now almost completely gone. What's left are bushes and weeds.
We used to have many beautiful cordgrass plants in CDD areas all over Harmony. Now there are quite a bit fewer and those that remain appear less healthy than they used to be.
Is this really the best we can do in Harmony for the many thousands of dollars we each pay in CDD taxes year after year? I really don't think so.
Perhaps we need new management. What do you think?
