Dear list-members:
We have several singing commitments in the next couple of weeks:
We're singing Mass at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 7717 River Road,
Townsend, Tenn. 37882. The program includes Renaissance polyphony and Gregorian chant.
The next day we're singing the 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. John Neumann Church, 225 Jamestowne Blvd., Farragut, Tenn. 37934. The program is similar to that of Feb. 9.
On Sunday, Feb. 17, we're joining an ensemble of First Presbyterian Church (
620 State St., Knoxville, Tenn. 37902) to perform Allegri's Miserere and other examples of Lenten polyphony. The program is at 5 p.m.--I think. If that's not correct, I'll e-mail.
We're singing Mass at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at St. Therese Church,
701 S. Charles G. Seivers Blvd., Clinton, Tenn. 37716; selections to be determined.
Mark your calendar for 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16. We're doing a special Palm Sunday concert at Holy Ghost Church in Knoxville (1041 N. Central St., Knoxville, Tenn. 37917). The program will feature Schutz's "Seven Words From the Cross," selections from Liszt's "Via Crucis," and works by Victoria, Tallis, Anerio, Morley, Buxtehude, and Ingegneri. Several are settings of the propers for Palm Sunday and Good Friday.
You're welcome to any or all, and we hope to see you soon.
Please e-mail with any questions you may have.
Cheers,
Mary
