Dear Residents,
As we all know that the Election for Corporators in Bangalore is on 22nd August 2015.
PLEASE SPARE TIME, COME OUT AND VOTE IN BIG NUMBERS, POLITICAL PARTIES HAVE UNDERSTOOD THAT THE EDUCTAED PEOPLE ARE VOTING, LET US ALL GET THEM TO KNOW THAT WE CAN CHANGE THEIR FATE AND ALL WE NEED IS PROGRESS.
We are all aware that this election is crucial for all residing in ward 150 which includes our area. The result of this election will have asignificant impact on all of us as the elected representative (Corporator) will be the face of citizens in the council who would interact with the government to express our concerns & needs and in return make the changes possible in our ward.
In this regard, we tried to put our understanding of the candidates contesting for the election, this in turn might be helpful for all of us to come to a conclusion. People who attended the meetings with the candidates can also put forward their inputs / thoughts as well in a genuine way.
As part this activity, we are in contact with various Ring-Road Welfare Associations (RWA) across Bellandur and near-by places like SJR Prime, Lakeshore Homes, Springfields Apartments, SOBHA Associations who also had met the candidates contesting in person just like we did in GGL, and provided their inputs. This helped us in consolidating the thoughts on the candidates contesting.
Below table illustrates various candidates from respective parties / independent candidates, with details against some important points that we will / might want to consider. GGRA Observations | · No previous track records to infer on the performance · Was able to understand and speak to us in a common language – English · Had agreed to cooperate with layout association for streamlining the public issues · Will have to wait and watch on how much influence the elected candidate has to bring the change by discussing with government and related departments | · No previous track records to infer on the performance · Claimed that she was a elected member while this area was under Gram Panchayat and had done some good work for Devarabesanahalli (could not validate) · Speaks in native language but unable to in a common language English · Will have to wait and watch on how much influence the elected candidate has to bring the change by discussing with government and related departments | · No previous track records to infer on the performance · Will have to wait and watch on how much influence the elected candidate has to bring the change by discussing with government and related departments | · No previous track records to infer on the performance · Will have to wait and watch on how much influence the elected candidate has to bring the change by discussing with government and related departments |
Other General Observations are:
· All parties have a similar agenda for development related to water , roads , garbage , traffic etc. and seems to know the citizen problems to a large extent
· All the candidates are contesting for the first time for a corporation election
· Since Bellandur ward is reserved for a lady candidate, all of them have a representation on their behalf be it husband or son or party workers and we might have to work in this model whoever wins
· Communication could be easy with candidates knowing multiple languages and a commonly spoken language like English, else we would have to work through a translator
We as the responsible citizens, choose the RIGHT CANDIDATE as our CORPORATOR – who can / could make the change where weLIVE.
Please forward this email to your individual apartment association or print this and put it in the notice board / a place where most of the people in your apartments could read.
Please look forward for the next communications shortly.
Best Regards,
Team GGRA
