Hi All,
· Looks like BWSSB is laying pipelines and has started supplying treated water to some of the periphery areas of 110 villages wherein pipeline expenses are paid by builders/residents because BWSSB do not currently have the funds to lay pipelines or set up Water treatment plants .Refer this URL http://alpine-eco.wikidot.com/bwssb about the effort by Alpine Eco in ward no. 85.
· So I strongly believe that residents from Ward 150 can try this option with BWSSB because most of the builders of this ward have already collected huge BWSSB deposits from Apt. owners and comfortably earning massive interest every year on this deposit. Since the deposit amount lying with the builders of this ward will be few hundred crores, so this project of can be entirely funded for our ward by the huge BWSSB deposits lying with all the builders of this area.
· After discussion with few of the RWAs, NGOs and with knowledgeable citizens of this Ward like Mr Nagesh Ji during and after the WIPRO connect meeting, it appears that we do have sufficient safeguards from various govt. agencies to secure this massive deposit lying with the builders which can be used to set up water treatment plants + laying pipeline by BWSSB . The best part is that we don’t have to approach the lengthy process in the court to get this money ,WE ONLY NEED TO COME TOGETHER WITH THE PROOF OF BWSSB Charges WE PAID to BUILDERS ,PLAN ACCORDINGLY AND APPROACH THE APPROPRIATE GOVT AUTHORITY TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE .
· Few apt. associations of Haralur road were already exploring this self funding option with BWSSB officials for the last few months but it appears to be a difficult and tedious job to collect such huge sum of money from each and every apts/houses of the resident associations of this ward. So lets try this option instead of asking individual residents to contribute towards resolving this water issue.
· As far as our apartment is concerned, I filed an RTI in BWSSB as seen in this URL and could easily see how our builder alone has collected Rs 15 Crore as BWSSB charges(we paid Rs 1.5 Lakh per head ) from customers and had also faked the payment to BWSSB https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BztpIikBVhbCUHIwelZiNG9qS28&usp=sharing
· It appears that some builders of this area are in the process of exhausting the CORPUS fund and other deposits which are to be actually handed over to the association. Fortunately such deposits are also protected under the same Safeguards by the particular Govt. Dept which is located in Koramangala area but unfortunately we were not aware about it till date.
· SO LETS DISCUSS THIS ISSUE DURING THE WARD LEVEL MEETTING AT THE SOBHA ACQUAMARINE APT. CLUB HOUSE THIS SATURDAY 12 noon AND PROCEED ACCORDINGLY . You can call Nagesh Ji @94482-39985 from SOBHA ACQUAMARINE Association if needed for reaching the meeting venue.
LANDMARK:- If you are coming from Sarjapur road side, then please take the ORR Service Road near Sun City and then take left turn near BAKASURA and the apt. is the 3rd building on the left side of the road.

Folks,Nagesh has updated us on an initiative by our MLA Limbavali to involve public in his decision-making (both in budget-allocation and also in the monitoring of how it is spent) at Mahadevapura level. The meeting below is part of that, I believe. As Nagesh pointed out, there should be a common team working with all elected representatives. We have requested for a formal invite and more details to share with this group.

Hi All,
Please refer the latest Interim Order in the URL below related to this WP(Writ Petition) for Case no. 23918 in the Karnataka High court wherein BWSSB/BBMP has been asked to make urgent provisions(by means of tanker or pipeline) for proper treatment and supply of Potable water to the residents of newly added BBMP areas where the Borewell or tanker water is contaminated and unfit for human consumption.
A prominent NGO has shared this order today with us and asked us to test the Borewell/tanker water of our area. If the report shows that the BoreWell/Tanker water we get regularly is unfit for Human Consumption, then we should immediately proceed as follows:-
1) Collect signatures from at least 100+ residents of the concerned apartment complex and submit an application during the next BWSSB Water Adalat with a copy of the Water Test Report and this Court order .
2) Our application should be attached with proof showing that each of the 100+ residents have paid the necessary BWSSB charges to our builder and hence BWSSB should work with BBMP and the builder to supply Potable Drinking water to the residents of that apartment.
3) If we don’t get a +ve response, then we can approach the NGO who will help us to take it up further during the next hearing of this case in the high court.
For the Long term supply of Potable water to the extended areas of Bangalore city ,it seems that after Cauvery, Sharavathi may be Bangalore’s lifeline as seen in today's news item below.
