Hare Krishna,

We all follow the ritual of offerings on 13th or 15th day of the Death to the person. We also offer food we cooked in our house to him and let CROW touches / taste first and then we will take our Lunch. There is also a saying that up to 15 days the SOUL of the person will stay around us until we offer the ritual activities on 15th day. All these things are real and written in any Upanishads or Vedas??

My question here is how much time the soul will take to transfer from current body to the another body? Is there a gap where it will stay alone without any body??

Good question Suresh Prabhu,

I also know, some of these rituals help soul to get free from unfulfilled desire in the existing life.   Not sure if these rituals really help the soul.
