New interface for IC-705

Hi, I read that there is a new interface for IC-705 but the firmware is working only on Hardrock-50 amplifier.

Is it planned a new firmware for HR-500 and when?

Hi Maurizio,

It might work now, I haven't tested it and the interface is very similar. If it doesn't work, I'll try to look at it the next time I'm working on my HR500.

Another question: I have the old interface for IC-705 that works perfectly with Hardrock-500. Have I to upgrade the Arduino nano with a new firmware or it is enough the new hardware contained in the kit?

Hi Maurizio,

Yes you will need to update the Arduino sketch all of the files you need can be downloaded from this site:

https://sites.google.com/site/hardrock50beta/hardrock-50-builders-information-site/transceiver-interfacing/icom-ic705

You need HardRock-50_v4.2a.zip

You will need to download the Arduino IDE to update the Arduino. There are many YouTube videos the will show you how to do this.

I have archival copies of all of the Arduino versions, so yes I can send you the original code.
