I've read every similar thread and unfortunately none of these solutions work for me (I mean manual installation of babel plugins, installing regenerator, adding plugins section into babel.config.js file - like here).

What is causing this issue? I expect it could be fixed by manually importing regenerator-runtime/runtime, but it seems one of the main selling points of babel-env is NOT having to manually import polyfills, so I assume I'm missing a step. Thank you!

In my case, your answer wasn't enough and I needed to set babel sourceType to unambiguous as suggested here to allow a correct compilation of the project. This option was required because the @babel/runtime/regenerator/index.js file exports its reference using module.exports = require("regenerator-runtime"); that breaks ES6 compilation.

I started getting this error when added transpileDependencies: ['openplayerjs'], to my vue.config.js, as Babel with @vue/cli-plugin-babel/preset won't touch dependencies in node_modules, go figure why. Installing regenerator-runtime did not help, and I thought the issue lied in Yarn's pnp modules:

I've determined through some reading that this is caused by babel-polyfill or regenerator-runtime not being applied correctly to Jest. However, I've tried installing both of those packages and re-running with no change in results. After reading the Jest Github issues page (Remove auto-inclusion of babel-polyfill #2755), I found out that babel-polyfill is not included automatically by Jest as of version 19. My manual installation of that package should have fixed the issue, but it did not. I've included some of the files that I think are relevant

Jest no longer automatically injects regenerator-runtime - if you get errors concerning it, make sure to configure Babel to properly transpile async functions, using e.g. @babel/preset-env. Related PR.

In other words, some of my dependencies in node_modules need to be transpiled. When I use the published packages (npm install) it works fine, but when I use development repositories (npm link) it's failing with that error:

i treid all the steps mentioned by MABKAY and started regenerating sectors. But unfortunately the process of regeneration gets stucked in between after regenerating few sectors and i get a message to restart my system and start the HDD regenerator again. so i have to start Regeneration process several times and for Sectors almost close to 0.97 Billion its a bit complex and tiresome.

Note: babel-jest is automatically installed when installing Jest and will automatically transform files if a babel configuration exists in your project. To avoid this behavior, you can explicitly reset the transform configuration option:
