I purchased Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition for the PS4. As a bonus, you get 300,000 red orbs and 200,000 proud souls to start the game. This sucks cause you are able to unlock and max EVERYTHING as early as in mission 2 without any grind or trouble. I would like to play the game with no currency and actually upgrade as I progress. Is there any way to decline, disable or invalidate the initial currency?

got the demon hunter bundle on sale a few weeks back. never played dmc4. should i use all those free orbs, hold off, or use some every other level? idk i just don't want to ruin my first playthrough/game progression.

At launch, Devil May Cry 5 features no loot boxes or premium currency of any sort. What it does include is a series of microtransactions where players can purchase different amounts of orbs for a fixed price.

Devil May Cry 5's microtransactions cover blue and red orbs, both having an effect on gameplay. Each blue orb increases the characters' health by one bar, while red orbs represent the sole way of unlocking new combos or abilities, alongside one of the options to continue fighting once your health drops to zero. It's worth keeping in mind that purchased red orbs are tied to the save slot they're appiled to. Deleting the save slot results in losing the red orbs. This is the full list of microtransactions available at launch:

Devil May Cry 5's microtransactions are there to expedite the unlocking of abilities, or give you an extra edge in battles with added health. That being said, during our playthrough for the review, we found enough orbs to both have a decent amount of health and unlock plenty of the available combos for each of the three playable characters. We also didn't feel like any part of the game required purchasing microtransactions in order to progress further.

She met him just at the door from whence he had turned to seek her: he durst not meet her eyes, those grand fire-orbs that had pierced him through and through that other day; if he had looked up at her face he would have seen the disappointment, the sickness of hope deferred, showing somewhat there in spite of her efforts to keep the appearance of it back.
