Hello, I have a Centos box running Cache 2011 and I am trying send a print job from vista on this box to a network windows printer. When I try to print I am getting a "device busy". I have installed and configured Samba on the Centos box. Is there something else i am missing. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
JAH

I think his question was more along the lines of can you successfully print to the printer from the Centos Box outside of Vista - Maybe send a test print to it from CUPS.

Mark, I did that after Moody mentioned CUPS. i was able to send a test print from the WEBMIN interface without any issue.

I after doing some extensive research I was finally able to print a RACE file from Vista on my Linux box to a windows printer. While there seem to be some formatting issue I was able to print finally. Below is an example of the device file input I used.

NAME: LABPRINTER                            $I: /tmp/vistaprint

ASK DEVICE: NO                        ASK PARAMETERS: NO

QUEUING: ALLOWED                      LOCATION OF TERMINAL: Proctology

ASK HOST FILE: NO                     ASK HFS I/O OPERATION: NO

OPEN COUNT: 71                        OPEN PARAMETERS: "WNS"

MNEMONIC: P12

POST-CLOSE EXECUTE: S PRT=$ZF(-1,"lpr -r -l /tmp/vistaprint")

SUBTYPE: P-HPL/TEST                   TYPE: HOST FILE SERVER
