Hardhats,
I run a Native-owned health IT team that works deep in RPMS — including rebuilding it from FOIA/KIDS source to run on YottaDB — and we're adding a small number of certified medical coders to support Indian health facilities. Remote, as-needed call-order work: chart review, code assignment, and data entry into RPMS/PCC, with several-day turnarounds — compatible with an existing job or practice.
What I need:
- Current AAPC or AHIMA certification (CPC, CCS, CCS-P, COC; CIC for inpatient) — active and verifiable
- 2+ years of recent production coding
- RPMS/PCC experience preferred; VistA/CPRS or other federal-system experience is nearly as good (the PCC data-entry side is teachable, and orientation is provided)
- US-based; federal background check required
This community is exactly where the people who've done this work — or trained the people who did — still gather, so referrals are as welcome as applications. If you know a coder from your IHS or VA days who'd want flexible remote work again, please pass this along.
Reach me at
kim...@bighorse.net with certification and expiration, years and settings coded, and systems used. I'm moving this week.
Thanks — and to those I've been reading here for years: glad to finally post something besides questions.
