This question concerns the combination of Delayed Event Orders and Auto-DC rules in CPRS set-up. The point of contention is the "Event order dialog" similar to the dialog below from the CPRS Technical Manual. In the help text, it says that OR GXMOVE DISCHARGE will be released immediately (which it does), unlike the rest of the events predicated upon the MAS event (in this case Discharge). So far so good.

But our problem happens when after discharge, where the Auto-DC are supposed to take place. The discharge order, which was active just prior to discharge, now shows that it's active (again), saying that it got released by the delayed order, like this:

Discharge Order in Inpatient:

Discharge Order in Outpatient (detail to show the delayed release mechanism).

So the quesiton is: We don't want to see the Discharge Order after the patient is discharged. Yet it shows up after discharge like this.

Any ideas?

Sam,
I'm not sure I know the answer, but I do know that I can't see the pictures in this e-mail.
If you upload them to vistapedia, you can just post a link to the wiki page, and the
folks (like me) who have problem seeing the pictures will be more likely to be able
to see what the problem is, and how to help you fix it.

Hmm. That just sucks! Okay, let's see if I can rewrite the email:

This question concerns the combination of Delayed Event Orders and
Auto-DC rules in CPRS set-up. The point of contention is the "Event
order dialog" similar to the dialog below from the CPRS Technical
Manual. In the help text, it says that OR GXMOVE DISCHARGE will be
released immediately (which it does), unlike the rest of the events

But our problem happens when after discharge, where the Auto-DC are
supposed to take place. The discharge order, which was active just
prior to discharge, now shows that it's active (again), saying that it
got released by the delayed order, like this:

Discharge Order in Inpatient (2 views: Active & Delayed)

SS-2011-05-04_15.41.16.png

Discharge Order in Outpatient (detail to show the delayed release mechanism):

Discharge Order in Outpatient (list view, showing order is active)

So the quesiton is: We don't want to see the Discharge Order after the

patient is discharged. Ideally, it should say "completed" or
"discontinued".

Any ideas?
