Hi all -

I've been reading this group for a while, as I've been figuring out how to set up various instances of VistA.  But I've run into a problem that I've seen referred to a couple of times in this group, and can't find a solution.

I've set up the OSEHRA VistA Vagrant demo release on a Rackspace machine running Ubuntu.  The auto-install took a while to figure out how to get right, but then it worked beautifully.  Everything seems to be set up right - I can log in to the roll-and-scroll UI, run Fileman, etc using the access codes that are set up by OSEHRA.  But when I try to log in using CPRS from a Windows VM I'm running here at home, I always get the "not a valid access code/verify code pair" error.

I can run netstat from my VM and see that the listener is running on port 9430 (the port used by OSEHRA Vista).

Going through some of the things written here, it looks like this is a problem with XUSRB1.  I downloaded the CPRS v30.15 executable offered here as a solution to this problem:  https://www.osehra.org/blog/vista-m-and-delphi-guis-problem

However, when I run that version of CPRS from my XP VM, I get a new error: "This is version 1.0.30.15 of CPRSChart.exe.  1.30.15 version server is required.  The running server version is 1.0.30.16.  The program cannot be run until the client is upgraded."

Tantalizingly, the server is actually reading and accepting my access/verify codes, since if I enter a garbage access code it rejects it as invalid - I only get the above error message if I enter a valid access/verify code pair.

So I guess my questions are - any ideas for what to do?  Is anyone working on a new CPRS executable for version 1.30.16 that deals with the XUSRB1 problem?

Thank you so much in advance, and thanks for all the help you have given me passively so far!

Try editing your Option OR CPRS GUI CHART and changing it to 1.0.30.15 from 1.0.30.16 and see if you can get it to work then.

Thank you so much, Nancy!  That worked perfectly.

Now I'm just facing the disappointment that the sample patients in the OSEHRA don't really have much associated with them.  I was really hoping for a bunch of sample patients that had notes, labs, etc. so that I could show off the capabilities of VistA.  Guess I'll just have to keep looking, or buckle down and do it myself.

You need a VA Demo or dEWDrop, I will send you some instructions.

I have the VA demo, I managed to make that work a while ago, with help from someone at the VA.  And it does have a set of sample patients with some information, which would be easier to expand and show how you can look at lab results and vital signs over time.  But the VA demo (at least last time I used it) is run off a VA server that resets every 24 hours, so any changes I make to patient information won't be maintained.

I don't want to ask too many questions on a single thread, but what is the easiest way, or the easiest module on which to, to enter lab values and vital signs for a patient?  OSEHRA talks about not having implemented the vitals GUI in its release (http://issues.osehra.org/browse/VISTA-57).  Is there one available?

dEWDrop and VistA for education, although not the latest and greatest, will allow you do to that as will WorldVistA EHR 2.0.

Nicholas:

Thanks to George Lilly and the Open Source community the version of VistA in dEWDrop is available in a format that can be understood by the OSEHRA Auto Installer (Vagrant based).

The repo that contains dEWDrop in a format that the auto installer can understand: https://github.com/glilly/wvehr2-dewdrop

If you run the autoInstaller.sh it should show you the available command line parameters.

If you want to use the dEWDrop version of vista with the autoInstaller this is the command:

./autoInstaller.sh -a http://github.com/glilly/wvehr2-dewdrop.git -s -e -i OSEHRA

This tells the autoInstaller to use an alternate repo, Skip testing, Install EWD, with an instance named OSEHRA (you can change the name if you'd like - it just changes the username for the instance owner and the home directory - I would keep it short).

Lab results have to be entered via roll-and-scroll. VistApedia may contain information on how to result a lab. If it doesn't search the archives of this mailing list. I'm sure it has been covered before.

Vitals can be entered using CRPS and VitalsLite or the Vitals application.

VA distributes a Vitals GUI. That ticket is about integrating the Source Code into the OSEHRA build process so that we can build Vitals GUI from source, run tests, and accept community enhancements. (It is also so we can change the encryption hash)

There are ways, of course, to do this with external labs, etc., that do not need to be done by hand, so just so everyone is on the same page, let's be clear, this is for a demo. You may also find you can use the loader that comes with VistA for Education to facilitate the process. I have not tried it, but I suspect it would be worth trying and it would work for a demo.

Yes, this is all just me thinking about a demonstration that will show off some of the basics of VistA.  So thank you both so much for your help, and I'll keep putting things together.  I'm sure I'll have a bunch more questions later!

Back to an afternoon of working with Cerner / Anasazi...

Hi all
I am new to Vista and found this group extremely helpful. I am also facing the issue of connecting to OSEHRA Vista via CPRS Gui. I tried to download the CPRS 30.15 as suggested but the link is not working for me. Could you please help?

Thanks

I am sure the most recent build of OSEHRA VistA that installs with Vagrant, which I think is August 2015, probably does not use CPRS 1.0.30.15. I am not sure exactly which version it uses, but maybe CPRS 1.0.30.69.

Thanks Nancy. much appreciated.

I am getting the following error now.

Do I need to replace the version as advised by you in an earlier post? Also I was using this https://www.osehra.org/content/how-setup-osehra-vista-development-virtual-machine-vm-0  to set up my virtual machine and used the CPRS demo client from there.

Please help.

Thanks
Puran

Puran,
Your latest error says you are running server version 1.0.39.16.

I think you'll find CPRS 1.0.30.16 here:

Puran:

The link to the CPRS version that works with that FOIA release is here: https://www.osehra.org/comment/2026#comment-2026

Also, please don't cross post. It makes searching the archives harder and puts more work on the people trying to help you.
