Hi,

Can anyone tell me the steps to create a new patient data object in
CPRS(VISTA). I need to create a patient data object for patient
medical record number(MRN) like other |Patient Name| or |Patient Age|
etc.

I have the access to create a shared template under which patient data
object comes. I have created MRN patient data object in template
editor GUI But i was not able to use it in my personal templates. I
did not understand how to link the value to my data object whether it
has to be done from the vista teminal or from the template editor GUI.

Please send the response asap.

Thanks,

Pardeep

1. Perform the following steps on terminal.
a. d ^XUP
b. Select OPTION NAME: TIU MAINTENANCE MENU
c. Select TIU Maintenance Menu Option: 2
d. Select Document Definitions (Manager) Option: 4
e. START DISPLAY WITH OBJECT: FIRST// Press Enter
f. Select Action: Next Screen// Create
g. Enter the Name of a new Object: [object name]
h. CLASS OWNER: CLINICAL COORDINATOR Replace Press Enter
i. Select Action: Next Screen// Detailed Display/Edit
j. Select Entry: (18-31): (Select [object name])
k. Select Action: Quit// Technical Fields
l. OBJECT METHOD: S X={There will be the routine call that will return
the patient data as you needed}
m. Select Action: Quit// Basics
n. NAME: [object name] Replace Press Enter
o. ABBREVIATION: Press Enter
p. PRINT NAME: [object name] Replace Press Enter
q. CLASS OWNER: CLINICAL COORDINATOR Replace Press Enter
r. STATUS: (A/I): INACTIVE// ACTIVE
s. Select Action: Quit// Press Enter

You need to write the routine for the object method field that will
return the patient related data. e.g. $$TEST^ROUTINE(DFN)

Hi Faisal,

I am also facing one more issue.
I am creating a template in CPRS(VITSA) template editor. Is it
possible to format the text coming in template editor like bold,
italic or putting bulltes or changing the size of text as per the
requirement?

Thanks,
Pardeep

Hello,

There is no option for formating text in templates (CPRS). But you can
modify the CPRS code of Template Editor to give such options. Some
time back i worked on it and make text bold and colored on template
dialog but was not fully successful to copy that formated text to the
note editor.

There is a second method for folks who aren't M programmers where you
create a patient data object from any of the large number of health
summary components. For example, If you wanted a data object that
returned the last Hemoglobin A1C you would do it this way:

1.Create TIU/Health Summary Objects -TIUHS LIST MANAGER
2.Create New TIU Object
3.Name it -HGA1C (3,1Y)-TIU
4. Now go to the Health summary Menu and pick Create/Modify HS Type-
GMTS TYPE ENTER/EDIT
5. Create a summary and use the component SLT for selected lab test
6. for the item, enter HGA1C or whatever your lab calls it
7. Lastly, link the TIU HS object you created to the health summary
and you can use it like any data object.

Most of these components ought to exist in WV and some are very cool
like being able to make a data object from a PCE health factor. The
possibilites are enourmous and it should be widely used. additionally,
unlike regular data objects, you can have the object display multiple
occurances and control the time period to look back

The closes thing we have to that currently is TMG-CPRS which will
render html. However, it is currently lacking in a user-friendly html
editor. That may change soon. -- IV

It would be good to thinking ahead to rendering XML based documents with style
sheets as well for the CCR-CCD project and for coding inside TIU notes,
requirements to come down the pike with CCHIT.
